The hype after Ainge's freshman year. We went into 05 believing we had our "franchise qb" and we all know what happend. I think the difference will have to prove to be our O-line. We had a great D that year and everyone still knows what happend. This year our D is not so good. Just thought it was an interesting parallel.

The guy played 5 games last year and now he is expected to be the best QB in the SEC this year and help our offense put up 40 points a game according to some, then lead us to an SEC title in 2012. He played well last year, but he took a lot of gambles. Now that the book is out on him, he isn't going to surprise Db's by throwing bombs to hunter. Those will turn into picks this year if he isn't smarter about it.

Just think we need to see more before we crown him. Especially if he emerges as a leader, which a great QB must do.

the hype in 05 was around the team that was ranked in the top-5 and EA was going to be the qb. This is nothing like that

I agree, thats why i am so cautios with this season. a sophomore slump will quickly demoralize a fanbase by bringing back visions of Ainge, and even what we thought we had with crompton.

Just call off the season. Bray is gonna mail it in and we're pretty much done. No need to be optimistic guys because some people obviously perceive that as "hype".

Carry on.
