Collin just equated Fulmer's situation at UT with Burger King getting his order wrong because they weren't very ''buttoned up for a corporation of that size.'' He said ''You can defend Phil Fulmer on his record, but there's no excuse for Burger King to screw up my breakfast, and there's no excuse for Tennessee to be as mediocre as they are. Much like a big corporate restaurant, they have budget advantages, built-in tradition, from coaches to recruits, they can get the very best; Location, tradition, money, facilities, and they're mediocre; They're not very buttoned up. They returned 8 offensive starters, the entire offensive line, 2 good running backs, and they're 104th in the country in rushing? There's no excuse. Phil Fulmer's record is good enough for Utah State, Univ. of Arizona, it's not good enough for Tennessee.'' He ended with ''When Boise state is a more efficient program than Tennessee, what does that tell you? Look to the coach. The last 9 years, Tennessee is soft and in-efficient. 0-3 in SEC Champ. games, lousy in bowl games, terrible against top 10 teams, even at home..You've got to be buttoned up when you're the big dog, the big corporation, or the big college football program.''

I think he might be making a valid point here.

crap! you beat me to it! Its interesting to hear all of these national media folks who state we have one of the premier jobs in the country, and they are totally disinterested parties. Some of our own local media are tooting the "nobody but Fulmer can do what he did" horn and dragging our programs name in the mud, saying it isnt a great job etc... Kind of interesting, seems as though the national media doesnt have Battered Wives Syndrome like some in Knoxville do.

A lot of the "local media" lost their meal ticket because they cozied up to CPF.

at the end of the day, all you have to do is ask yourself.......if you had to play one game......say the SEC championship game.......and you could choose the head coach from this list........where would Fulmer be on that list today?
Fulmer
Saban
Meyer
Richt
Miles
Spurrier
Tubberville

at least 4 of those guys are going to be ahead of Fulmer on most people's list.

at the end of the day, that's what matters at this point.

I agree with you on that one.

am I the only one who thinks this is just a ridiculous comparison? The point is valid but the BK thing makes zero sense. It is exactly what I would expect for him though

That's what its all about right there. His comments had more points than what UT has scored all season. Can't wait for the weeks to come to see who will be leading our Vols next season!

Makes a lot of sense. Big corporations expect more and Big college football programs should expect more.

It's okay, he probably plagiarized it from somewhere. I'm still waiting for him to get a website so we can crash it for no reason at all.

Cowherd = choad

I wouldn't take Fulmer over a single coach on that list. And a couple of them are totally out his league.

Well the burger king thing was a little more like ''I give the mom & pop diner down the road a pass when they screw up my order, but I can't give burger king that same pass. They have to have a higher standard of excellence.'' That was his point leading up to the original stuff I posted.
