Please tell me I am not the only one feeling this way? What the he** is Phil doing?

This is arguably THE MOST IMPORTANT head coach hire in the history of UT football...and we are hearing names like Steele, Tucker, and Morris??

Meanwhile, all our rivals are busy celebrating or locking down their #1 or #2 top choices. It makes me sick to my stomach. We supported this program through the Hamilton/Hart/Kiffin/Dooley/Jones fiasco and this is what we have come to?

I just cannot, for the life of me, understand what Phil finds appealing about interviewing and potentially hiring these guys....

You offer Petersen, Miles, Venables, Tee, or Kiffin (da** what your prior feelings are) and don't let them say no. There should really be no questions about this.

Sorry guys, I'm just really, really frustrated at this point and am terrified we will be forever in the pit of misery of this hire isn't done right. Talk me down!

Right there with you man. Fulmer needs to swallow his pride and give kiffin a call. He’s the best most realistic option available.

As I just stated in another thread - if we make a home run hire out of left field, I’ll be the first to come on here and eat crow. I’m starting to get a bad feeling about this, though.

Same here. We either are getting one hell of a surprise or they’re preparing for damage control after they announce another crappy coach hire

Lol, and UCF literally just hired Mizzou's OC. Wasted no time whatsoever.

And that is an outstanding hire. Josh Huepel is a great young coach, his offenses were killing it at Missouri. While inexperienced, he would have been a fantastic hire at UT. Certainly better than Mel Tucker.

Fulmer is a meat and potatoes guy.

He’s going to hire a meat and potatoes guy.

The hire will have an old school mindset

I definitely have an increasingly sinking feeling that this doesn't end well. None of the DCs we're being linked with would really inspire me. Venables is probably the best of the bunch.

I'd take Morris over all the DCs simply because he's had HC experience and seems to have SMU trending upwards. I'm sure I could talk myself into Morris by next September. But before all this started Morris would've been pretty far down my list.

It's getting harder to see this ending well. We exhausted pretty much every good option last week. No matter who it is we're probably scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Not sure what you guys are worried about... I'm sure Dooley 3.0 will be way better than the previous 2 versions. Nothing to worry about.

What have YOU heard Fulmer say?

He has used no names and has made a lot of contacts.

At least wait until an acorn hits you before you start the "Sky is falling" malarkey.

When Fulmer took over a lot gained hope but myself
I lost hope. Realized right then I have years to come where most fans in Sec gets to laugh again.
I'm just ready to hire another Dooley and get these 3 years behind me

I'm just ready for all this to be over, expecting the worst and hoping for the best. I can't for wait for people to start complaining about the coach instead of the potential coach

My concern is that is Fulmer hangs around long term, he'll be too stubborn to admit he made a crappy hire so that 3 years will wind up being 5 or 6.

Just glad kiffin isn't in the mix! Left us and really damaged our program after it was already hurt. Laughed about it later on and now trolls us during a very bad time in the programs history. Once a low life punk always one!!!
