Happy after every win of course, but these really stand out.

Oh and that 136 overtime game at Neyland against Arkansas, I forget the year. Wild damn game lol

I agree. It was the first bama game I took my daughter to. She was a sr in high school. From tailgating all day to the game, it was the greatest experience I’ve ever had in Knoxville.

I'm gonna amend my answer. I initially said the 5 overtime game against Arky but when I think about it, the 1980 loss to Bama in Neyland (0-27) was probably the happiest. It was my first game, I was 7 years old. We spent the day on the river on a boat, had a tons of food and then came back on the boat and went into the stadium. It was amazing even though we lost.

The funny part was after as we were walking and waiting to cross Cumberland. Traffic was stopped and there was a white Alpha Romeo with the top down. This really hot girl stood up, pulled her pants down and on the back of her underwear was printed "Roll Tide". I will never forget that moment, I was disappointed in the game but somehow, ironically, I knew then I was going to attend THE Univeristy of Tennessee and get those Bammers one day:).

I was also at that Arkansas game, sitting in the endzone seats where the funble happened. Going from "well we are screwed" to "why are they running an actual play" to "OH MY GOD WE WON THAT THING" was exhaustingly great. I recall lots of folks were leaving because they figured the hogs would just spin the clock and it was over.

Biggest away win I saw was Legion Field in 1995. I was on the 50 yard line around all bama folks except my 2 friends that were with me. I have no doubt they haven’t forgot!!!! GBO!

Baseball should absolutely be fair game for this thread. I was not there, but one of the greatest moments I've seen in all of sports was Tennessee hitting the walk off grand slam in the 9th to beat Wright State at Knoxville in 2021.

Happiest- the 86 sugar bowl. I remember Miami scoring ( pretty easily) that first drive and some people around getting uneasy. The rest of that game was incredible. The pre game and post game atmosphere was awesome. The 98 Arkansas game was happy too, but that was after several minutes of me screaming at Fulmer a thousand times, trying to tell him the Referee's messed up the penalty administration on the "illegal kick " by arkansas. Instead of a safety, it should have been our ball first and goal on around the 4 if I recall. We would have scored and the famous fumble would be irrelevant

1991 at Notre Dame
2003 at Miami

1997 at UCLA might rank higher if it wasn’t so hot that day and we had gone on to win 52-10 as we should have. As it was, we blew, at minimum, a 27-0, 31-0 lead in the 2nd Qt and held on for dear life.


Worst was 2001 SEC Championship game.

2001 game in The Swamp.
I was down there from very early in the morning until late after the game.
All over town Gators were throwing roses around because they were so confident
that they were going to the Rose Bowl to play for the National Championship.
One of the best days of my life.

1979 ND (with Dad)-First (of many) goal post game.
1982 Bama (with Dad)-I was a kid. I was already a massive fan but the intravenous orange was injected that game.
1984 Auburn (with Dad)-Bo...stuffed.
1992 UGA (in Athens with UGa buddies)-first big road win. Nothing quite as satisfying.
1993 UGA (Neyland with same guys)-first time showing others how football is done properly.
1998 UF (with Dad)-enough said.
2004 UGA (in Athens)-Ainge. Huge upset.
2022 UF (with daughter)-Had to show HER how football is done properly.

1986 Sugar Bowl. The location, the overwhelming presence of Vols fans, the Vols absolute mastery of Miami, the lopsided victory, the after party in the French Quarter… the trip out of town, when every local said, I hope y’all come back soon.
