Why Louisville ahead of UT... Never understood that one. Other than that sounds good to me.

Hat... I already posted a comment in the HCT section...but what about Southern Cal? Sweet 16, return alot (not sure about this), add Mayo. Ther not even top 25?

The frontcourt is the part I definitely agree with, but I just don't know. I know we haven't seen the full potential of Bruce Pearl yet, but I see what he's done with the Vols the past two years with the talent he had (not much)... Then I see what he has now and I just don't see Louisville ahead of us. But what am I complaining about. It's a top 10 ranking 3 years after a 14-17 season.

I think they'll be very good by the end of the year, but they are painfully young and have a brutal schedule. That said, I wouldn't want to be a 6 seed drawing them as one of the last at large teams.

If Donovan has that team in the final poll of the season, he should be the unanimous choice for National Coach of the Year.

I can only hope that I get to remind you of that statement. But I suspect that even the NIT for this team would be a huge accomplishment. We've got talent, to be sure, but size-wise and of course in terms of experience, we are just nowhere.

Thanks Hat....I saw your response in the HCT section...

I didn't realize they lost so much...I thought they were adding Mayo to bascially the same team that made that run last year

Oh boo-frickin.hoo for the fan of the team with back-to-back titles...:)

Just playin law...UF does have talent and I'm sure they will have a respectable year with some quality wins...

And before you count them out....think about what UNC did two years ago after losing 7 of their top 8 scorers from the NC team

The pipeline of talent coming into UNC allowed them to reload year in and year out. Florida does not have that luxury, I don't believe.

Two years ago, we weren't even on the first bracketologies to come out, were not ranked, and were not mentioned by anyone as a possible contender. So sure anything can happen. Just not this year, lol.

If Pruitt and Young had returned to school, they'd be sitting right behind UT in my projections.

Preseason lists are so difficult to get right - because other than the teams who return a lot of players (like UT), who really has an idea of how they'll perform?

That said, hat knows way more than I do about college hoops, so I say this list seems about right to me. UT, UNC, Kansas, Memphis, UCLA, Louisville all should be stout for sure. I just hope UCLA doesn't win it all - the fewer of their games I watch, the better.

Hat, I look forward to a preseason All-American team (and hope you do one). Miss St. intrigues me, mainly b/c of Gordon. By the end of the year he might be one of the 3-4 best guards in the country.

I think a whole lot of people are underestimating Michigan State. Tom Izzo didn't make all those Final Fours on luck alone.

I looked at my notepad at one point and realized I had 45 teams I was considering for the list.

I think Izzo's one of the 5 best coaches in the college game right now. Has been this entire decade. Even when he doesn't have the talent to match, his teams still perform. And one thing is true come March - NOBODY wants to play Michigan State.

Man, it's fun to be talked about in the same sentence as UNC, Louisville, UCLA, Kansas, Memphis...I hope we're still doing it come March.

I'd be absolutely stunned if Tennessee isn't playing on the Tournament's second weekend.

I can't believe you ranked North Carolina ahead of Memphis.I thought you hated them, their coach, etc!Just don't let John Calipari see your predictions, you'll be banned from Memphis.Just kidding.I do hope the Vols finish at least 4th giving them NCAA tournament momentum.
