Does anyone think we should try yo use Chris Brown as an H back instead of playing a fullback since the fullbacks are not getting it done?

I think UT should use 3 WR's, a TE, and a single back and bench both of the FB's.

I want to agree with you, but at the same time, I fail to see the need. Our passing game is working great with a 2 WR set, and Ainge is getting a lot of time in the pocket with a FB back there. I agree that our FBs are not doing anything productive for the running game, however, they are doing well with pass pro.

i thought about that today. cut would do it if he thought it would give us the best chance to win. i think they want to keep him at te cause we dont have anybody else there. the fullbacks just need to get better.

i dont think we have the o-line or blocking schemes to run a one back set.

I disagree. Coker's long run was from a single back 2 TE set. That looks to be a much better running option for us since the FBs haven't managed to get a block to open the hole.

I dont know why you say we dont have anybody else at the TE position. Both the Cottams are playing extremely well so far, especially the younger brother. He is 6'8, 260. He made the block to spring Coker. He is going to be a stud before he is done at UT.

I agree with benching both FB's and changing our sets if that is logical from a scheme standpoint. I dont know how much that changes from a blocking scheme standpoint for the OL and TE's, but if it is feasible then do it because something needs to be done to get through to these FB's that they are not getting the job done.

They are not pass blocking any better than they are run blocking. They are supposed to be picking up those blitzes and are doing a horrible job of that.

In the CAL game that's the way Cut used Brown. I noticed he used Brown and Cottam as H-Backs. When he does it makes the Offense more versital. Maybe something he's gonna bring for UGA.

For UGA, I really think Cut should establish the run this week. Colorado ran for 173 yards against UGA...the team that barely ran for 100 against Montana State ran for almost 200 against UGA! This is one of the few games on the schedule in which our OL will be able win in the trenches, and I really believe that Cut will exploit that...if only to give Bama and LSU something to think about.

what i really meant was that i doubt we practiced running 2 te sets all spring. cut is all about perfection, we wont run a play in a game until we run it perfect 100 times in a row in practice. i doubt they couldve predicted cory anderson not playing well and probably didnt run 2 te in practice much, since its probably just too weird for fulmer. i dont know how many plays are available in that set, and we may not see them until georgia. i thought chris brown would be a key possession reciever for the offense.the way we threw in the orange and white game i thought the te's would be getting a lot of passes but that hasnt happened yet this year.

that being said i have never liked the 2 te set. but i dont like our fb cut blocking instead of getting their pads low and blowing linebackers away either. holbert is young and may come around, but what happened to anderson?

One big difference I've noticed in the playcalling is the lack of throws to the FB this year. Last year it seemed like we were screening or throwing that little boot pass to the fullback 4-5 times a game. This year it seems like more of the underneath stuff is going to the TE.

True, I keep waiting for them to use the FB, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. I think that Anderson caught a pass in the UF game, but that's about it.

I love the 2 tight set. It keeps the formation more balanced, but if you want to overload a side, just put one of them in motion. They are blocking better than either fullback. It can be fun to send the TE in motion to overload a side and hope that your guard can seal the end, and run away from the overload. Coker's speed can make that a good play...

It would be nice to hear about the FB getting chewed out when they mess up. I don't know that I would do 2 TE all the time but I agree someone needs to get the FB's attention.

I think Cut wanted to throw it to someone who would catch it and not fumble.:BANGHEAD2:

Both FB's need to pull out some film on Shawn Bryson and take some notes, lots of room for improvement at that position IMO.

Maybe offseason attempts to transplant a pair of hands to replace the current cynder-blocks on the end of the FB's arms were unsuccessful?

Thanks...I was trying to remember his name...Didn't he have some long runs for touchdowns the year that we won the NC. Was he a true fullback or a RB that was good at blocking? Seems like it would be nice to have two of (Foster, Hardesty, Coker and Yancy) on the field a lot of the time...I am not an x's and o's guy so what I just wrote may be totally stupid....
