The truth is that Cal folks have no basis to argue directly that their program is superior to Tennessee's program. So, they always fall back on some nebulous, indirect argument that has something to do with the quality of USC's athletes, or the quality of some traditionally superior program that Cal managed to defeat one time. It's not a logically valid argument, but you can always force them into trying to make it. What fun!
If Tennessee wins come Saturday, this will be even more entertaining. ABSOLUTE BEST CASE SCENARIO: Cal defeats Penn State in the Rose Bowl this year after UT cleans Cal's clock. What fun!
