The Good:
Pruitt seems to be getting comfortable
A stable of solid RBs
Better (not good yet) LB play
DL actually got some pressure
A shutout win
Weather cooperated
Gave no film to FL
Showed downfield passing
Paul Bain showed why he earned a scholly

The Bad:
Dumb-ass penalties
Slow start out of the gate
Some red zone issues

The Ugly:
The schedule doesn't look favorable from here
Lots of empty seats
Time to improve is running out

Have to be patient this year. He is dealing a bad line on offense. Until they learn how to block nothing good can happen. The backs have to stay in to help block and that eliminates a check down receiver. The receivers does not have time to get open

I could see some changes on defense that might help. Sapp playing over Kongbo. Ignont over Taylor. After the first three games I think our best four linebackers are Kirkland, Bituli, Ignont, and Sapp. Secondary seems to be A. Taylor and Thompson. Safeties Abernathy and Warrior. DL Gooden, Tuttle, and Johnson Jr. Phillips seems to be fourth JMO. Paul Bain has done some good things. The backups Taylor and Kongbo or Reid at linebacker, Buchanan and Flowers secondary, Shamburger nickel and safety. This is most of the group I see were down to on defense.

I see about three good OL right now don't know how we will get that up to seven definitely a couple guys not getting it done and backups not doing any better. JG is totally number one QB should get all the snaps Saturday vs. Florida. Several WRs have been impressive with Calloway and Palmer standing out right now. WR seems to be one of our deepest groups with Jennings, B. Johnson, Murphy, Byrd, ad Williams all in the backup group. RB Chandler, London, Jordan is a great triple duo. I think we need to stay away from Banks in the Florida game until he gets better at ball control. TE we have a great one in Anderson need to get him more involved.
Where are Byrd and L. Williams that is the big question?

Ratings by group after three games.

Defense rates C fair but I can see changes like Ignont and Sapp over Kongbo and Taylor making defense better. Gooden over Phillips making DL better.

OL-D
RB-B+
WR-B
QB-B
TE-B

The only thing holding back this offense is the OL they get to playing better we'll score a lot of points. If they don't were gonna struggle with negative plays and penalties that are going to kill drives.

There is no good to take away from yesterday. It was the worst team in CFB and yall are looking for improvement? We went backwards if anything.

If our lines can't block that team, then UF, UGA, Bama and everyone else will have multiple sacks. Possibly leading to an injury for JG.

Same for d line. Everyone else is going to run all over us and pass on these CBs

There was no good from yesterday, there was no improvement. In fact, it's sad we have people looking for it against an opponent like UTEP and think they've seen it

Rant over, but we still suck as much as last year and are no better than week 1

So other than that, everything is just peachy? Haha. I love your optimism :)

Taylor seemed to pickup his game some yesterday too. The defense is playing faster and faster, meaning they are understanding their assignments more and thinking less.

The ugly: Kongbo and Richmond. I’m past over these busts. Richmond is only playing because there is no one else. Once Sapp is healthy Kongbo needs to ride the pine.

After seeing 15 games of suck from us, it's hard to be optimistic. As bad as Butch may have been. He was not the problem last season. This team is horrible, except for JG, MC, J Jennings and we could make an argument for the RBs.

This defense plays like they are made to play and rather be somewhere else doing something else.

There is no excuse for yesterday. Not , they we're overlooking them, they were just not up for it. they were looking ahead to UF. it was too early. And NO. We were not over trained and going to have a 20% boost against UF for god's sake.

Our o line and defense is not going to allow any success this year.

?????????

Have you watched the 3 games??
Have you watched Fall camp?
HAVE YOU LOOKED AT THE STARTING LINEUP?! Kongbo and Sapp play DIFFERENT positions.

Bituli is the one who has been seeing time on the edge. Sapp is INSIDE.

Gooden and Bain are the most disruptive lineman to date.

and this should be a cause of concern for Vol fans IMO. If Bain and Gooden are getting things done, WTH is going on with Phillips, Tuttle, and Bennett?

The problem we usually loose two or three linebackers a year to injuries

For those that don't think butch was the problem last year (or the four years prior), there's nothing to say to them-they live in a different world than the rest of us. CP was handed the worst UT team of the modern era (and maybe of all time)-he's getting the job done. Butch's fan boys gave him five years (and many wanted to continue with his champions of life crap for a few more!), but are finding fault with CP after three games, two of which he had won. There is just no pleasing some people-they've looked to find fault with CP as of day one, reason: they still have a man crush on their boy butch.
