The Bad news:

New qb will result in even more conservative scared playcalling than we saw this year with a new WR crew.

Well, you probably cannot say that Crompton won't at least try and spread the field. The only problem is if he doesn't go through the reads the coaches will probably yank him. Who knows what next year will be like.

Who said Crompton would start next season?...there is BJ Coleman and Nick Stephens

I don't want to get on the EA bashwagon, but I do think he's going to have to learn to take some hits if he's ever going to have a chance at being an NFL starter.
I don't think he'll ever start, but given the horrendous NFL QBs populating the league today, he will find a roost and earn a solid paycheck for his (lack of) talents.

He can't go a college season healthy, therefore what makes any rational thinking persona believe he can ________________________.

Fill in the blank.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. If Jonathan Crompton is not the starter next year he is officially one of the biggest busts in Tennessee history. I have every reason to believe based on his recruiting, and his previous experience, that he will start the season as the next QB at UT. Either way, regardless of who our QB turns out to be, I just hope Phil remembers the debacle that was the 2005 QB flip-flop and just sticks with a guy if no one steps up.

I bet whatever you'd like that he does play next season.

well, mouth. i was talking about for the vols, but since you want to run your mouth, and since you want to make a bet. we'll consider a down in the REGULAR NFL season next year...if you have the guts to back up your big mouth? what about it, chump?

you clearly need every dime you can get, so even winning I'd feel bad. Hell, trailers don't grow on trees any more. Knowwhatimean?

For the record, you are definitely the superior man and debated me into the ground. Your kinfolk / wives / daughters / sisters should be very proud of you.

Can this be possible? More conservative than this year. Man i'll die of boredom and watching that stupid meerkat thing all game.

:search:If Ainge plays next year it will be in August in meaningless pre season games. No shot of making an impact in the NFL. Which in his case stands for Not For Long.

I agree with the playcalling being a bit conservative...but Crompton can run a little and he isn't afraid of getting hit at all...

I think alot of plays never get the chance to develop because Ainge has played scared for most of his career...

I was watching Chase Daniel last night and it hit me that when you have a QB that is a threat to run it changes everything and we haven't had that since Martin...

I think if I'm Cutcliffe I would do everything in my power to bring Crompton along instead of Coleman or Stephens cause Crompton is the only one who is a threat to run and that will change everything about our O if we have that next year

Has everyone forgotten that Crompton can actually play ball?

Why not throw Dylan Dickey & Alex Trent in there... they're on the roster. I guess they've got just as much as shot as anyone right :banghead2:

No way we'd be in this position this season without Ainge. Goodness

Arguments can be made. Butttttttttt.. I have noticed that if the reciever is not open immediately he has no ability (or is unwilling) to buy some time to improvise and get his recievers open down field. The boy doesnt get sacked, but we sacked Woodson around 6 or 7 times and he about won that game. I think the sack is over rated for the most part. But, when one gets sacked one must hold on to the ball (California). Can anyone remember when ERik did'nt have an open reciever and ran for 5 or 6 to get the 1st down? Hell every qb does it every now and then.

Yeah, I would take that bet too. Ainge might be on an NFL roster but he will not play in the regular season more than likely. I see later on he chickened out of the bet though.

I was only betting that he would make an NFL team. That got turned into something different and I don't think he'll see the playing field.
