Interesting. I've never had anything nibble on my pepper plants. I did spray everything the other day. Mix of Sevin, Taurus, and something else and a tinch of neem oil maybe for diseases. Sprayed fruit trees, figs, berries, garden plants, everything. While doing so noticed some Jap Beetles. So, got my spraying just in time. They normally decimate the apple tree foliage. That mix is my go to. The concentrates are at the co-op. Also can use it inside for ticks and fleas, spray the yard with it. My step son keeps his yard sprayed instead of going broke buying flea and tick treamtents for multiple dogs. Stuff works good.

I have avoided all chemicals to this point. I want to keep it that way. I have a couple garden spiders I try to leave alone as much as possible.

The ones I am using as pest control are harmless to the dogs and such. I don't spray much, but last time I didn't when the beetles started showing up, they totally stripped my apples and peaches. Around my maters and peppers I use mulch, marigolds, basil and nasturtiums. Soon as my squash stems get robust enough gonna try to wrap them in foil before the borers come. Never tried that yet.

I also spray mint oil alot. Seems to work good for deer and other pests. Just gotta reapply after rains. Another trick this year I'm doing as I use them is cutting off the white ends of store green onions, trimming the roots and sticking them in my raised bed between the maters and peppers. They will resprout new tops. Also a deterrent. Just clip at base for use, and don't harvest. Will keep resprouting new tops. Forgot to tell my wife not to throw the pack out. Gotta go get some more. She has a history of threwing things out. We did a major sweep of the upstairs yesterday. She went in sons room and got some stuff. Brown bag. didn't look in it. Ended up throwing out a bag of stuff he had been buying his gf for her bday. He had to go dumpster diving this morning at bowling alley where I threw out everything. Lucky fart found it all in first bag he went in for. He was not happy with her. It's not the first time. He's all clean cut and buff and this lady was just staring at him. Pretty funny but i couldn't rightly laugh at him. I lost a bag of green onions myself. Traumatic.

I avoid chemicals so I don't bother the pollinators. I have a couple mint plants, and marigolds. Marigolds haven't flowered yet which is strange for them in my experience.
