I am in no way overlooking the rest of this season, and I firmly believe we will give Bama their toughest game all year. But jeez, our team will be phenomenal next year and the year after. We are in the best position we've been in since 2001. Feels good to be a Vol.

The present is bright too, but I see what you mean. Our receivers are finally making an impact and Kelly is going to be a beast too. We lose a lot next year but with all our injuries we're seeing the guys we'll need to take on the role of starters already doing so and doing decently well.

The future is bright is a saying for a first year head coach. The future is now.

Hard to not think about what next year might look like and feel good about it when you see young guys like Jennings, Kelly, Byrd and Warrior play. I understand your point, but I think both thoughts can coexist. We can do really big things this year, but the future surely looks to be in good hands with some of these young studs.

Both of our lines will have the talent to compete with anyone in cfb for at least the next 2 years, our QB situation going forward is enviable for nearly any other program, our skill positions are set for the foreseeable future, and our defensive backs should only get better. Shoop should stick around for another couple years, and a change at OC is certainly possible. I just can't imagine us not being a top 15 team going forward. I'm not pontificating with orange shades on, these assumptions are based in fact.

Speaking of future, Jarrett Guarantano is seeing all of this unfold this season. Dobbs is going to leave some large shoes to fill, I think JG is capable.

Amen. Bright future, bright present, bright everything except turnovers/sloppy play. And that's odd since Coach Jones has been excellent in those categories really until this year. I'm confident we'll get that cleaned up and then watch out--we have playmakers everywhere and they play HARD for this coaching staff. Great to be a Tennessee Vol. Never been more proud of our team's fight and moxie.

Yes, the future is bright. building this is a process. No more loser mentality. Butch's teams expect to win. next year UT will return 100% of its Oline if you count Thomas at center.

Our passing game could be dangerous. We have tons of playmakers!

What I am about to say isn't meant to be misconstrued regarding Dobbs. Joshua is our offensive leader and the best playmaker on our team. He is calm in the pocket. However, he leaves this year.

Going forward, I am very excited to see our offense with the weapons we have when our QB is just a little bit better leading receivers, and throwing them open. If that part of our scheme develops, oh. my. goodness this team will be a juggernaut.

Not going to happen, and this is no slight to Dobbs, but Kamara and Hurd have another year of eligibility. Would love to see them play if Dormady or Guarantano could consistently open up the run game...

They're not coming back
