The first BCS poll is out

I'm surprised the #2 ranking was maintained. I guess there is not too much love for Joepa.

Interesting to note that OU is the top 1-loss and that both Utah and Boise St. are in the top 12.

Apparently.

Not to be bitter about our sucking, but wouldn't this be more at home in around the NCAA?

OK, maybe I am a little bitter.

BTW, Harris is my surname, so it is fun to imagine that I have a lot of say in the BCS poll.

Well the SEC is down this year and this poll shows it. The Big 12 is far better top to bottom than the SEC this season. Not saying we are the 3rd best conf or anything but the whole SEC dominance thing is a wash this year (up to now).

The Big 12 may be better, but it isn't THAT much better.

I think that the BIG 12's top teams (Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, Okie state) could handle any SEC team on a neutral field at this point. But there is still a little season left to play so anything could happen. The SEC was overrated this preseason IMO.

:lolabove: :eek:k:

Tech and OSU could not beat Alabama and/or Florida in Lubbock or Stillwater, respectively.

I stopped visiting the ESPN boards because I got tired of the same threads every day...it was always "this conference is better than this conference"

We'll know which conference is best at the end of the year. Although I find it interesting that Sagarin had the SEC as the best conference in the nation by a wide margin...until the conference season started. Now its supposedly #3...how a conference drops in rankings when all the loses are conference loses is a bit puzzling.
