Not necessarily. If, as everyone thinks, Urban Meyer would be their targeted replacement, waiting a year makes it more likely they get their man. You're not going to pull a guy away from a national title run in this day and age.

Would Urban actually leave the gators for ND? I guess I always assumed he'd make the jump to the NFL before leaving Florida, rather than making a move down to coach at ND.

I think he knows it wouldn't be smart to jump to the NFL with his system. If he wins the national title this year... probably a 50% chance he does - then I think he'd seriously consider it.
