Earlier this week, it was widely reported that Cheney had not been invited due to his embarrassingly low approval ranking (like in the teens). Was going to be the first time since 1928 that a sitting VP didn't go.

So now they are going to squeeze him in there. I'm sure it will be like at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday, when seven people are watching.

maybe you should have actually read the article you linked to in your OP.

the first paragraph reads:

Vice President Cheney will speak at the Republican National Convention next month in St. Paul on the same night as President Bush, according to representaives for the vice president and John McCain's campaign.

btw, some of the comments below the politico story are hilarious. Every time some lefty claims it's the right wing that is so full of hate, I laugh in their face.

Makes some sense to get both GW and Cheney out of the way at the same time. Just grin and bear it and get it over with so that McCain can come in and turn the page ....
