DCS runaway held in attempted murder

A 17-year-old boy who was on the run from state custody is charged with attempted first-degree murder in an attack on an elderly Knox County woman.
Knox County sheriff's deputies say the teen beat the woman and tied her to a chair with phone cords before pouring bleach on her skin and attempting to set her on fire.
Authorities say he forced her into the trunk of her car at knifepoint and slit the woman's throat.
She was found in the car and taken to a hospital; neither her identity nor condition has been released.
The suspect surrendered to authorities at the woman's house.
He was ordered by a juvenile court judge to be held in custody until a June 3 hearing.
