The effect of Bruce Pearl

I don't post much, but I read this and other boards throughout the day. As an avid college basketball fan, I find it interesting that the first two threads on catspause (Kentucky's rivals board) are about Bruce Pearl. I am anxious if the "loftonless" scheme he has developed will work tonight. GO VOLS.

His marketing genius is almost unmatched. The team has been playing very average basketball for a couple of weeks, his All-American player is injured, and everybody is still talking about him. What other coach can do that?

Good point. The difference is Pearl is really going all out to get UT in the paper and on ESPN. Knight is just being Knight and that's almost always enough to get on ESPN.

and eventually, BP will be the same......no matter what he does, it will get some sort of attention. especially if the team stays good and he keeps his flare for PR......

you can't get away with stuff like this if you aren't winning at some level....keep that in mind. if we were 9-9 or something worse, he'd of been crucified.:thumbsup:
