A win against UMass next week and the Vols will be 3-1. Lose to Georgia the following week then to South Carolina coming off the bye and Butch is in big trouble. A sure loss to Bama follows that game. Will Currie make a move if Tennessee is 3-3 going into Tuscaloosa?

I hope so.

No and no and no. Nothing happens. I mean come on - does anyone really believe that would happen? Butch gets the year at least. Get used to it.

I still don't think anything will happen until the end of the season at the earliest, and that's really only if the wheels continue to wobble and come off completely.

A vol legend was fired after a similar meltdown to what happened last year yet Butch was able to weather through. Right now I really do not care when so long as it happens before season's end.

No. He should coach the rest of the season, unless he wants to resign. But if I'm Currie, my feelers are out starting next week.

Butch is not getting another year. He has to win the East and that is not happening.

We will lose to LSU, Bama, Carolina and Vandy for sure. Georgia and Kentucky I'm 50/50 on. I just don't see him being back next year. But forget that. How do we have such poor play at DB and LB. What the he'll happened to the type of back end guys we used to have in the 90s. I'm sick of our poor defense.

They aren't making a change this season. We should've seen the writing on the wall when his initial coordinators were jumping ship. Dude is delusional and has a serious god complex with his inability to take responsibility for his mistakes.

Five losses. That's the earliest a change should be made. If he loses 5, it makes no sense to keep him. Otherwise, it makes no sense to fire him before the last couple of weeks of the season. I think you do it then so you can hire someone before the "dead period" in recruiting.

Absolutely agree. 8-4 with losses to Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Alabama would do it for me. Not for the administration though unfortunately.

Jones may be all that... but those coaches didn't jump ship. The first DC took a job coaching safeties at a mid-major iirc. The first OC is a position coach in the NFL. Martinez is unemployed. Stripling was moved to the office.

If you want to take a shot at Jones... it should be that he EVER had those guys or Lawson on his staff.

I've been watching UT football since 1985. I've never seen such abuse of play calling and time management since then. This was a complete and total abortion. Someone should be fired. Maybe even the guy that makes millions.

That's what I mean though. Why would they take lesser jobs? Because Butch likely has a god complex. He can't admit it's his fault when it clearly is.

Run the ball one time at the end. Just once. It runs the clock down and maybe, just maybe you score. Kelly was on fire.

Instead you throw it again with a qb that had already shown bad decisions. Give UF time on the clock. I don't know that I've ever in my life as a Vol fan seen a game plan more idiotic. I can't defend this doofus

No. Jones is going nowhere. He'll 100% be our coach this year and in 2018. Just the way it is.

If we lose to to GA and SCAR, then the change should happen after the Carolina game. If we wait longer we will lose a lot of desirable recruits, especially out of state kids.
The base is howling for his dismissal right now. But Currie can't fire him for one loss. But if we drop two of the next three CBJ will have made the case on the field for his own removal.

I hate it, but, I can see the Vols finishing behind SC, Kentucky and yes, Vandy..........defense can't tackle or cover.....gonna be a long year for team 121 and Butch Jones
