This guy is a Gator homer, but this is a very fair appraisal of the upcoming season, and he's putting it all on Butch.

The Vols will be heavily favored in that game despite having lost 11 straight to Gators. After going back and forth on this one I have finally decided
that I think the Gators win that game. Tennessee wins the East if the Vols beat Florida and Butch Jones figures out how to coach a fourth quarter.

The SEC East 2016-Madd Man Mark Miller | Coosa Valley News

As much as some people don't want to admit it, this guy is 100% correct.

The other reason for this shoutout, is because this is the funniest line I've ever seen in a sports column.

South Carolina wins the SEC East if Jacob Eason and Kirby Smart are unprecedented failures and a meteor hits Neyland Stadium on September 24th.
:eek:lol:

When I agree that a gator homer is 100% right I'll quit calling myself a Vol fan. He admits that UT should be the favorite then makes a homer pick.

Well, at least he gave a good reason. He's still 100% correct, Butch has something to prove.

The streak isn't a good reason, it's superstition. A better O or D is a good reason. When was the last time we beat a team from the West? That mean you agree 100% we're a 3 loss team straight out of the gate? Don't take this as a personal attack, I just disagree with the logic. We're on the same side in the end.

HUH?

The streak has nothing to do with his pick, you apparently didn't read what he had to say...."Tennessee wins if Butch figures out how
to coach in the 4th quarter." And that my friend is 100% on the money.

I have no idea where you got that 3 loss nonsense. I'm already on record with my season prediction, and its nowhere close to 9-3 so
stop putting words in my mouth. :good!:

Gave S.C. a fightin' chance with the meteor strike.

As opposed to:

Vandy wins the East if-who are you kidding-they aren’t going to win the East

" The bottom line here is that if Tennessee beats Florida in Knoxville in September I will start to view them differently. The Vols will be heavily favored in that game despite having lost 11 straight to Gators. "

That's where I got the streak nonsense. I mentioned the losing streak to teams from the West to make a point, not put words in your mouth.

Well your "point" doesn't make much impact since the guy plainly said..."The Vols win the East if Butch figures out how to coach in the 4th quarter."

You keep sidestepping that for some reason. :clapping:

A lot of serious debate over the Dr. Demento of sport's journalism.

Nobody going to discuss the implications of a meteor strike?

I addressed what I disagreed with. It's all good brother. We're obviously arguing two different points. Let me clarify my point. Since he picked Fla. to beat UT, for any reason this year, I can't agree with him at all. If that's not direct enough I concede the debate.

Where do you stand on the issue of the meteor strike?

:)

The evidence is out there...

One more time... he picked Florida because he has no faith in Butch, he even says if Jones figures out how to coach the 4th quarter we
win the East. I honestly don't know how much simpler this can get.

I have a buck on SC now also.

The odds for them to win the SEC are 100/1

It's to my understanding they factored in the Vegas odds for the meteor strike when coming up with this.

I will wire 50 bucks to Freak to share with the winner of a circle of death gladiator/tournament/extravaganza fight that is open for all.

It happened before and wiped out the dinosaurs, but then we started over a million year streak without one so it can't happen again if God doesn't improve his passing game. I say you can't beat the streak.

Lots of check downs and scrambles.

He was going deep but settled for Soddom and Gommorah. Wound up leading the team in catches that year with ONE.

I'm going with 66's logic because the Gator writer is an 'over the top' homer. Who in their right mind would pick UF over UT or UGA this year? Streaks are the equivalent of superstition. UT has everybody back on defense - but Jancek! Shoop is the key difference maker in the 4th quarter, not CBJ. The key difference on the offensive side of the ball in the 4th quarter will be a deep rotation at OL and secondly, some healthy receivers.

Good grief. Logic has just flown out the window. The "Gator writer" clearly states "The Vols win the SECE if Butch figure out how to coach the 4th quarter." What is it that you people don't understand about that?

just a few sentences above that he picks UF to win the heads up game throwing in not taking UT serious until they win because UF won the last 11. What do you not understand about that?

At the end of the UT breakdown he gives a case for how they can win the East as he does with each team. That's the part that got you all giddy.

Everybody is right. Now we can all be friends:thumbsup:

No, its very simple. He's not predicting some cosmic interference, he's simply saying if Butch doesn't screw up like he did last season the Vols
win not only the Florida game, but also win the East. Its mind boggling that you cant grasp that??

Dude put the shovel down, it's not worth it. It's a no win situation. If you prove you're right it just means you think like a gator. Really, do you want that?:)
