I agree to a point, but to get up at the presser and say that your 4/5* back up QB was "too cold" to take a snap from under center and hand it to your starting RB is an absolute joke. I agree the players made many mistakes, the I think that the coaches made just as many. Butch also said that the 1st play QD had at the goal line was a designed run. The problem with this is when they lined up they were in the shotgun formation turning a 1 yd run into a 5 yd run. That is coaching, I realize that QD audibled into a pass because of a blitz package that UF had set up, but I go back to the formation. No coach in their right mind lines up in shotgun from the 1yd line and tries to run the ball. I don't believe that the original call was ever a run, I think it was a pass all the way, thus making the shotgun formation make much more sense. Either way you look at the play it was "butched" from the start.
Coaching flaw number 2, you are telling me that JG cannot take a snap from under center unless he is warm??? that is total bs and everyone knows it, the 1st and 1 didn't work, and on 2nd and 1 you come our again in shotgun formation with JG, again it was never gonna be a run. The penalty was on the OL, they should have called a timeout and got QD back in the game, instead throw JG out there get a penalty and now you're 3rd and goal from the 6 and are obviously in a passing situation. UF knew it and got the pick.
The moral of this story is, when you are 1st and goal from the 1 you have to come away with at WORST 3 points.
