The coaching staff is nearly complete and the others teams need to start cowering in their corners. We are talking mostly NFL vs oh ya know those NCAA teams, the staff is very well put together and will do some damage, yes even next year. We do beat Florida along with Bama and UGA. GO VOLS!!!!

It almost seems a little unfair to have this strong of a recruiting edge...

This staff at UT is easily the best in the nation. After a couple of recruiting classes, UT will begin dominating the SEC.

I wouldn't say that. Meyer is sitting in the sunshine state and will possibly have 2 national titles to use as a recruiting weapon. Saban is going to have a good case as well. We have a great recruiting staff, but nothing will be easy.

There is a point where unbridled optimism crosses over into delusional lunacy (think Bammer).

Let's try not to cross that line folks.

Im as pumped about the staff a anyone, but we are not gonna rake in top talent off of just names. These guys realize how hard recruiting the best players is gonna be. They still have to go to FL, Louisiana, California, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and others to get this talent. Last time I check, all of these states currently have programs that give their instate talent a choice to stay home. We went out and hired the best recruiter, and staff to give us a better chance with these players. Calling it easy, is a little over the top.

I'll take this moment to point out UCLA built an NFL experienced coaching staff and rode it to a 4-8 record last season.

Exactly right, this staff gives us a even playing field to compete in rectruiting, year in year out. After that, its what they put on the field that will determine the rest. Not comparing Tenn and Cali, but USC won big with their rectruits, and now they can go into any home in the country and say "come to USC and play for NC's." They used great recruiting classes to compete for NC's, and in turn made recruiting easier.

Exactly. I'm excited about the new staff as well, but let's hold it in check.

It's kind of similar to what we experienced here in Birmingham when Gene Chizik was hired as Auburn's head coach. Fans ready to burn the place down, but I've heard many talking heads and fans alike say "Let's wait until the football season to judge the hire."

Everything looks good now, but we still have to win football games. If we don't come into October at least 3-1 (like we should have this year), the enthusiasm will die down a bit.

I am sorry to say there is little chance of us beating Florida, Georgia, and Alabama all next year. We'll be doing good to knock off one of them (Alabama?).

A winning season, eight wins, a bowl game; those are the sorts of goals and benchmarks we should have for the first year. All this other talk is delusional.

Mhmm, we'll see how Florida does after they lose Tim Tebow. I'm not saying they'll be terrible or anything, but it's going to be hard to find another like him.

They just got a verbal from his clone. Brantley I think.

There isn't another tebow on the earth. Meyer's offense won't be as potent without him, thank god.

Of course, we are after Brown the wide receiver. I'm sure one of his first questions is who will coach the wide receivers? Anyone seen anything on that?

Florida ain't going anywhere, as long as Meyer is there.
They may take a step back, where we have taken 2 or 3.

We have to catch up to them, not hope they back up to us.

We are taking our first steps right now.

The talent that Kiffin has to work with is much better than what UCLA has.

I thought that too. But then they beat us last season. Talent alone should have beaten UCLA despite of horrid offensive coaching.

As much as I like this staff, be careful not to get overly excited and start predicting all these huge things guys. I know we are all biased in our opinions as Vol fans. But sit back and think about this staff. Do you really think it is "godly"? Kiffin has proved nothing. Coach O has proved nothing. Lets just let this play out before putting our foot in our mouths.
