The coaching search reality

lol no TCU could not match any offer UT could make. First TCU isn't even a full share member in the Big 12 so they're not even getting a full payout from TV and Bowl money.

Second, the Big 12's payout rank them 4th just above the ACC in payouts

5 College Conferences That Bring in Over $250 Million

UT could offer up more for the HC and assistants and there is no way TCU could match it
Sure Bama COULD pay Saban $20 million. It's not. Patterson is the 9th highest paid coach in thr nation. Do you think he deserves more than Saban $$?
If you think TCU can't match UT within the pay scale, you're fooling yourself.

How much would UT or any school offer him?

Consider that Arkansas, A&M and others are opening. The best coaches are playing it for the best situation. Meanwhile signing day is creeping closer. Enjoy!

I'd bet some of the people who voted for the early signing period wish they had the ballot back about now because the most stable programs like AL can take their lunch money and eat their lunch, too. It gives the negative recruiting aspect a big boost when a team is scrambling to find a coaching staff and others are locking up recruits committed to the fired staff.

I agree!

Isn't this a one year trial?

If so with all these vacancies and craziness. It will be the only year it happens. Haha

Yup. My guess is several will move to undo it. Every school will run into it sooner or later.

Good God,
The negativity is sickening. UT is a much better job than TCU, Missippi State, and Central Florida. We have tradition, great facilities, and tons of financial resources. Our football program brings in more revenue than any other program in the nation including Bama. Why the #### do some of you act like it would be impossible to lure in a big name coach?

Stay calm, all is well!!!

It's not impossible, it's just a lot more difficult. UT hasn't been relevant in the lifetime of any of the kids it's recruiting. Yes, it has awesome facilities and fans, which is why even a goober like Lyle could successfully recruit. It's a great platform. But, there are a handful (or less) of coaches who are game changers and the SEC had about 7 schools who can match UT in facilities, fans and tradition. A couple have openings this year.

You also have to consider that the SEC is becoming a graveyard for coaches not named Saban. UT would have been a consistent 8-10 game winner over thr last decade in a lesser conference.

Sorry I'm not allowed to create a thread yet but on Wikipedia it says Chris Peterson head coach at Tennessee. Just saying maybe false but take it for what it's worth.
