Chance to beat SC on the last drive....Turnover
MULTIPLE chances to beat UGA in the 2nd half....Turnover(s)
3rd qtr when the D stepped up vs MSU....3 and out(s)
Chance to score on Bama before the 2nd half and keep it a game (pass to Pig)....Turnover in the endzone
2nd half of FL game when it was tied....3 and outs

The offense does not get it done in crunch time.

Bottom line, if people on this board had been told in the preseason that our offense would score the most points of any team this year against fla. 44 on ga. 31 on msu and 35 on usc, everyone would have believed those games would have been wins. We didn't lose those games because of a lack of offense, we lost them because we have no defense. I don't care when the offense scores, if a team scores 44 points they have no business losing! The offense can't be expected, by any reasonable person, to score every time they get the ball. It's ridiculous to blame the second best offense in the conference for losses when we have the worst defense in the history of the school. Sounds more like you have an axe to grind and you're not gonna let facts get in your way.

Chavis is an excellent DC who, unfortunately, has one glaring weakness that he seems t oeither refuse to overcome or is unable to overcome. And it cost LSU the game against Bama the other night, just as it cost us some big games as well.

I would want him back if I saw improvement in that area, and last week showed that is not the case. There are other good defensive coaches out there.

I want him back no matter what. He had our defense up there every year. Yeah sometimes they gave up a big play down the stretch, however they held it close to make that play relevant!

What is so depressing about UT as of the last decade is that when we actually have one side of the ball that is strong our other side is just pathetic. '05,'08,'12 in particular and from my point of view that really compounds the frustration.

Been working in Nashville a lot lately and if Franklin/Vandy win after the Bama and Florida violations I'm going to get physically ill.

Did anyone see Bama's winning drive agianst LSU? Chief at his finest....

Listen, Bama has scored against everybody. No defense no matter how good it is, isn't unbeatable every play or even series of plays during a game. That's why you will periodically see some noodles for legs team score a touchdown against some almighty powerhouse, even if that's the only score they get all game. So to denigrate the Chief for a play series that went against his defense is just an exhibition of ignorance poured into a cup of witless arrogance.

I never blamed the offense for losses, I'm saying that they don't come through in pressure situations.

LSU had completely shut down Bama the entire 2nd half. Then on the last drive, Bama marches it right down and puts it in without missing a beat, classic chief.

Only time "3rd and chavis" talk really came up was when the offense wasn't scoring points.Chavis IMO did an excellent job while he was at UT.
