Zaxby fries was first solid food my son had. My favorite "fast food" fries are Wendy's and Penn East Coast Subs. Penn has the fresh tater fry slicer mounted on the wall and when you place your order they hand press out your fries and drop them in the fryer.I hate Zax sauce. I do love the fries with the seasoning with ranch though.
Never had Hattie B's, but I thinks it's Prince's that's hte other popular Nashville Hot joint. It's really good. Getting old though. I did the medium my first time there and got torched. Backed off to mild and hit a happy place that still has plenty kick for a mild. Can't do as hot as I used to like.Went by Hattie B's in Nashville after the Vandy game and got the hot chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and it was stellar!
Zaxby's is not as good as it used to be. I think the chicken tenders have gotten smaller and are not as juicy. They also seem to be operating with a skeleton crew and sometimes it can take a while to get your food.Zaxby fries was first solid food my son had. I'm middling on their sauce. It does leave you thirsty. Raising Cane's sauce is almost exact copy, bt not quite as strongly flavored. I've just kind of burned out on Zaxby's, not that we ate it alot to begin with. Rarely go there anymore.
Pretty much sums it up. They seemed several hours old last time I had them best way to put it.Zaxby's is not as good as it used to be. Having said that, I still go there sometimes and the Zax Sauce is probably by single favorite "special" fast food sauce.

When I first ran accross Zaxby's back in the mid 90's or so, they were very hard to beat. There was a store in Greenville, SC on Lauren's Rd unlike any other. Prob in first 10 ever opened. First one opened in Greenville whenever that was. Was a large 2-story 1930's house that had already converted to a previous food space before Zaxby's opened in it. They sent order to kitchen on a zip string. Has since been torn down/burned down and replaced with typical store. At the time that Zaxby's served beer, had a pool table and darts upstairs, made the ranch homemade in house. etc. Zaxby's food then was on a different level than it is now.
This was the store on Laurens Rd back then. 1996 era plus and minus. It burned down maybe a few years back. Not sure how long ago. Best i recall is where Haywood dead ends into Lauren's then take a right. Wasn't far down on the right. Actually it was 3 story house. Other names prior was Porches, Saturday Night. The current Zaxby's on Lauren's sits on the same location after the house was razed, from what I can dig up. It was a cool place. One of the early locations outside of GA.I live in Greenville and have never heard of it. There use to be a store on 29 called Dodges that sold some good chicken back in the day. It was in the Wade Hampton area not too far from Bob Jones.
