Just like how we've seen this coaching staff be up more than 2 scores, up at least 10 points, on a very good team, with ease in the first quarter then try to sit on that lead for the entire game. In turn killing our defense all game, and our offense getting stagnant. The opposing team gaining momentum on our tired defense... This has happened more times than I can remember.
Then people act like CBJ turned the corner against Georgia last year. No he didn't. We were close with them all game. If we stay close with a team, whether up slightly or down, then they have to continue pushing. With a lead that has a slight cushion they take the approach of playing safe. I think it's partially coaching philosophy on their part, and lack of trust in the QB/O-Line/ and receivers.
It's like when we played Bama last year. When we got up on them my wife thought I was crazy when I said we needed Bama to score. It's the only way they continue to call aggressive.
At least last year we could actually show out against less talented teams. Now we have Gators next week with our offense worse than last year, and our defense missing Kirkland, Sutton, and possibly a dinged up JRM. Yay
