Before the fiasco departure of Kiffin and company in January, I remember speaking with a lot of fellow UT fans who talked openly of the hot water Kiffin might land us in with the NCAA in the coming years.

Some even wondered aloud if we would trade a national title and return to national prominence in exchange for being placed on probation (or worse) later if Kiffin were found to be breaking major rules.

USC's penalties today are only indirectly related to any degree to Kiffin himself, but is this what the future of UT football would have held if he had stayed around?

I know I'd hate to be a Trogan fan today.

I liked the call at the beginning but now the more i think back the more I realize it would have torn our historic football history to pieces. This isnt over yet, they will look into the BB case.

Undoubtedly everyone will agree with you now, especially the majority on here who had their heads so far up Kiffins and Orgerons a__ when they were here they could never see daylight. Embarrassing to those of us who have the ability to see the larger picture.

Its been stated that there was a disconnect between Kiff/staff and the compliance office. (IOW, we actually have one)

Not everybody has the mensa like abilities to separate their allegiance to their school's football team and it's head coach like you and the other geniuses do. Personally, I supported the jerk although I was very uneasy about the way he spoke publicly and handled his coaching responsibilities simply because he was the head coach of the University of Tennessee Volunteers football team.

Your definition of everyone must be you and a few message board buddies. The concerns about Kiffin, O & recruiting were voiced early and often by a lot of long-time UT fans. They're just not 15 years old, so you don't know they exist.

Don't include me in your azz fantasy. I wanted Fulmer gone 2-3 years before he was ever replaced. His complacency is exactly what led to this programs downfall. On a positive note, kudos to you for admitting you were snowed. Not all will.

When I look back now I am glad that we are rid of Kiffin and Crew. But, before January 12th I wouldn't have said the same thing.

Kiffin was part of USC's staff when all of this occurred, so I'd say he's directly related to this rather than indirectly. For once, a coach that was responsible for the penalties at a school is going to suffer the punishment.

Losing scholarships sure will affect recruiting. He might have a more impressive class if some guys leave this year and he signs younger guys to take their place though.

As much as everyone dislikes Kiffin and I know UT fans don't want to hear this, but Kiffin is coming out of this much better than he left UT. Just think about it, now there are not any great expectations for him at USC, he can get a pass for several years. He doesn't have to be expected to achieve like he did at UT, and no pressure from the likes of Urban and Saban. He gets to live in sunny, warm Cal. with a Malibu home, and get 4 million a year. He is now the new Mike Shula. I don't like the guy, but he may be laughing at everyone.

Yeah, the USC faithful will be content to go back to the 80's and 90's for a few years until numb nuts can recruit a bunch of Nukeeses to come to LA.
