I know this is not directly UT football but... Because of ownership the browns are sort of UT adjacent though no one here would wanna claim that (rightfully so). This draft the browns have maybe have pulled off a doozy on the world. They have moved up in the NFL teams that give UT players opportunities along with the Chiefs, Saints, and Broncos. If you wanna find former UT players go to those teams rosters. But lets look at this draft..

If someone told you that Qinshon Judkins, Dylan Sampson, Dillon Gabriel and Shedur Sanders would all end up on the same roster a week ago you'd have laughed at them. If they'd told you that during the CFB season you'd have them drug tested. The wild thing is the Browns still have Ced Tillman who was quietly improving all last season, grabbed an interesting TE and picked up a really good DT and LB with their first 2 picks. This likely means Flacco or Pickett are not long for that roster.

Could 2026 be the year people start taking the Browns seriously? It wont be this year they might make the playoffs with that defense but its gonna take a while for them to figure out their QB situation. But, if the light comes on for Jerry Jeudy and Ced Tillman they are an interesting combo with Tillman being a great possession guy and Jeudy being the threat. Letting Sampson (lightning) and Judkins (thunder) split carries is a scary idea. I think the big winner here is Dylan Sampson.

I think having Sanders in a logjam at QB is an awesome opportunity for him....that's gonna be some real competitiveness and funny enough I think he can learn a lot from Flacco and Watkins if they are open to teaching..Thats a QB room with 3 alphas and Kenny Pickett. Its gonna be good TV.

They have 5 QBs on the current roster.

2 rookies, a QB on his 3rd team in 3 years, an old dude, and a guy looking to get a happy ending.

I don’t see that as a good thing.

As long as the nepo baby owns them, the Browns will never amount to anything.....

2 RBs on a team with holes everywhere

A 3rd round pick on a QB that was R6 at best. Then later taking a QB cancer after the last 4 QB cancers failed miserably.

A billionaire that saw fit to scam small family trucking companies out of a couple of million dollars and made his underlings take the fall for it tells me all I need to know about thought process, choices and character. I think he’s just hoping to get lucky for a change, but I’m not a Browns fan and don’t really care. I do feel a little bit sympathetic toward Browns fans, though.

I'd guess the Browns are looking for a trade with the situation they have in the QB room. Who knows, maybe they can trade Sanders for someone worthy of a second or third round pick.

Gabriel might be reasonably successful as a bit of a sleeper QB. He's effective and experienced for a rookie. His big problem is his height and he's not perfect for the long ball. However, if you want a stablizing force on a team from a leadership perspective he's got it. The guys around him love him for who he is as a person. Yes, I know that doesn't always put the ball in the end zone.
