The Notre Dame coach is going to LSU.
The Oklahoma coach is going to USC.

do the math. If the average price of a ticket goes from $34 to $45 (and all other related revenue streams do likewise), then a $250 million contract is quite a bit easier to cover.

We don’t know that Freddie wasn’t playing hardball last offseason and wouldn’t sign a fair contract. What we do know now though is that he has much more leverage, not even counting the fact that he’s a free agent, and he knows that the FO has more revenue to dip into now as opposed to this time last year.
