He did. He involved himself and weasels himself into that job, tanked multiple hires that would have been better than Pruitt and almost got us in the tank with the ncaa. His ego was so massive he couldn’t let go.

Phil was one of the best I've ever seen at describing something that was the best for him as the best for the University. I suppose there could be some overlap, but definitely not always. He was great at intentionally conflating those two things.
