The Atlanta Braves

Dayton Moore took over as Royals GM in June 2006 and has one division title, two playoff appearances and 3 winning seasons. How do you get to keep your job.

If true, no wonder we didnt get him.

How is it that the last two or three years or so when ever the Braves are mentioned at the trade deadline teams always ask (demand) for guys like Acuna, Albies, Soroka, Pache etc... and yet teams like the Dodgers etc.. can get pull deals off without giving up their top prospects?

I’ll say this for AA. He’s making the media rounds this morning and I can’t imagine a GM being more candid and owning the situation.

I’m sure they’ll have the interview available on 680 the Fan. It’s 15 minutes and worth a listen. He ran through a bunch of prospects and got a lot more specific on a number of guys than I ever expected.

After sleeping on it and calming down some, I’m still upset with what transpired but I have a pretty good feeling that Liberty Media is playing a factor in this.

You can’t take away from what you currently are counting on in order to fill a need. Anderson is up and is needed to perform, so dealing him would have left us in the same spot... short on starters. Pache ought to be manning CF already, but that’s another discussion. I wish we could have done something, but who out there that was realistically available would actually put us over the top against the Dodgers in the playoffs? As someone else pointed out the other day, our WS dreams probably faded when Soroka went down.

We would not have had to deal those guys. That article is bs.

who is worried about the dudgers in October? NOT ME

dudgers live to choke in October

They call October Choketober in LA and I ain’t taking about the murder rate!!!

Rinse,repeat
lol

With this 3 games series, the postseason will be even more unpredictable than it already is. I’m not worried about any specific team. We missed an opportunity to improve our club. That’s the problem.

Naylor isn’t great and can he play OF? Hedges sucks and Quantil is trash too. The rest we could have easily matched or beat. We could have condensed the deal by trading Waters

Agreed. I’m not particularly worried about them or cubs etc either

With more teams active, not trading guys like Lance Lynn and Dylan Bundy seems pretty dumb for those teams that aren’t going anywhere anytime soon

Everybody is focused on not getting a starter, but it’s hard to believe there wasn’t at least a bullpen arm or bench piece to be had.

AA this morning alluded to how frenetic it was with some teams who were sellers last Monday but did a 180 by the weekend. The expanded playoffs and short season really messed with some people’s minds.

Especially since it’s being reported the Rangers are gonna have to cut payroll anyways.

And that’s the thing. Okay you don’t want to give up a Drew Waters for Lynn and Clevinger. That’s fine. Then do something else. Go get Archie Bradley. Go get Starling Marte. If you can’t improve your weaknesses then build on your strengths.

Sorry to bombard the thread, but I just want to know what happened to the free wheeling gunslinger in Toronto. He traded his best prospect for half a season of David Price. He traded Snydergaard. He got Buehrle and Reyes. He traded for Tulo. Like he was never afraid to make a move in Toronto and now he won’t trade anyone that MIGHT have a chance to be good.

I think it's more the Braves than AA. He can only do what the owners let him. Also I'm cool with Waters going in a Clev deal but that's a steep overpay for Lynn.
