The Atlanta Braves

Do we need a pitcher now? Fried, Anderson, and assuming Hammels is ready in a few weeks. You only need 3 starters in the playoffs. I don't want to give up young talent if we can

@GAVol did people ever bitch about Lemke hitting second or was there not enough information out to complain about it?
Lemke hit 2nd at times but I think I remember Blauser in that spot more often than not. Lemke was usually hitting 7th or 8th.

Where was that? And not surprising AA is super cautious.
As if these deadline deals aren't already a roll of the dice.... now it's feasible to trade prospects and then have the season go up in smoke a week later. Can't imagine how scary it is to pull the trigger on a big deal right now.

It’s full steam ahead at this point imo. Bubble or not I fully expect to hear less and less about testing as we get closer the playoffs

Just don't trade Waters for some bum pitcher - Waters is a future superstar

Probably not the move to throw that label on him

Like AV said, the floor on him is who the hell knows. Somebody mentioned Jordan Schafer in regards to Pache the other day, that’s kind of the feeling I get with Waters if it doesn’t work out. But I’ve seen a couple Braves minor league reports put a healthy Grady Sizemore comp on him. The K rate with the lack of home run power plus he’s a switch hitter is worrisome. But he’s got an amazing attitude and work ethic and only 21.

I’d trade him for a legit controllable pitcher (Clevinger for example) but I’m sure AA has a feel for the price. Any prospect with an ounce of potential has stayed so he will probably be a Brave.

I think Pache could be at worst Jackie Bradley Jr

Right. Pache is a 3-4 win player because of his baserunning and defense alone at CF. Anything more than average offense and he will be an all-star caliber player.

Waters is a very good athlete but not the defender Pache is. Plus Pache’s batting profile is less risky than Waters. Waters probably has the higher ceiling with the bat though.

I can see why AA wants to keep those two with Acuna. If Pache and Waters hit, you’re talking best outfield in baseball.
