The Atlanta Braves

I love having my favorite sports team owned by a corporate media conglomerate. It really is the best.

Balls juiced like crazy, and players putting up career numbers and this dude only hit 9 in nearly 500 at bats. He has also been dreadful the last 2 postseasons.

lol the Chicago series sticks with me, my man Kakes swung with everything he had and it barely landed in the net over the wall. I mean, he gave it all he had.

Like. He’s fine. He’s a perfectly fine, average football coach. But isn’t Kentucky perfect for him?
What he did at Kentucky last year wasn't perfectly fine or average by their standards - it was incredible. That was a season that was 3-4 years in the making, and he's exactly .500 (15-15) in SEC play since 2016. That isn't anything to sniff at at Kentucky.

However, he does seem like a guy that is made more for a program with lower expectations, like Mike Leach minus the quirkiness. If he did take the FSU job, you'd have to think they'll more or less be forced to give him 3-4 years given they have committed so much to Taggart's buyout. They wouldn't run him off after 1 or 2 years if he struggled. There's been quite a bit of reporting that he's still well-liked down there from his days as a DC.

Thing is...he's also making $4.25m at Kentucky. I don't know exactly what it'd take to lure him away, but does FSU really want to pay him something like $6m/year? That'd instantaneously put him at the top end as far as HC salaries nationally, and I don't think he's deserving of that.

That's the tough thing about firing coaches now. Just about all the current P5 coaches make bank now.

There aren't a lot of football coaches at this level who think of themselves as "guys who are made for a program with low expectations." Last year was a magical year where he had two of the best players in the history of the program, everything broke his way.....and he still capped out in the Citrus Bowl. And the next year he's right back down to looking at 6-6 or 7-5 or so. Unless he's got a family who really loves Lexington, if he gets a chance to go to FSU he'll probably jump at it.
