The Atlanta Braves

Here we are with news coming out that teams are getting international deals with 13 and 14 year olds yet the Braves are the only team that gets punished. Meanwhile Coppy got a LIFETIME BAN from baseball and good ole John Hart is on MLBN. The world ain’t fair man.
That whole deal with Coppy was nuts at the time and is still nuts in hindsight for a variety of reasons. Clearly he was made an example out of. MLB knew or suspected that what he was doing was rampant throughout the league, and Coppy/the Braves were the folks they happened to catch in the act.

Having said that, it's also nuts how it doesn't seem to really even matter. Our GM, who was in the midst of conducting a massive rebuild, gets banned for life from MLB. We lose draft pool money and a bunch of prospects. Sounds awful, like something that sets the team back years, right? Instead, we slide right into replacing him with a GM with a pretty good track record, and the rebuild comes to fruition earlier than expected with a division title the very next year and momentum that looks like it should continue. It's something that sounds awful but will end up being a blip on the radar screen.
