That was a fun year. His next year was just about as good. Then he just lost his swing, and never really recovered. If he could’ve laid of the outside breaking balls he possibly could’ve been enshrined.
I really think he had as much natural talent as Griffey or ARod. He just never had the discipline.
 
Didn’t know you acquired a “34” year old oft injured slugger for his defense and baserunning. My apologies for your expectations.
I don't know why they decided to acquire him. Although of his 93 hits, 27 of them were HRs

Imagine being a 60+ win player and being considered disappointing. That’s kinda harsh lol
I know. It sounds ridiculous, but it always felt like he could've been an even better hitter. Just never could stop chasing.

He played his first year of pro ball here in town when he was 18 and I probably saw him 20 times. He put up 25 HRs, 100 RBI and 50 steals In low A.
