Joc vs RHP and Markakis against LHP. I know it goes against the traditional platoon situation but Joc is horrible against LHP while Nick is solid and still a plus defender. Unless you want a Joc/Duvall platoon.

I’m cool with Joc, I would like the pick up, but I’m not thrilled with the team that throttled us last postseason getting better and us getting their castoff. Hard to get excited about that.

Pretty solid additions, and didn’t invest much in them. Not sure it’s gonna get us over the hump, but that’s just hockey in general. Wish Fiala could’ve really put it all together here.

He’s a step slower now and he was a guy that could never afford to be a step slower, so you’re right for sure. But Fiala and Hartman are twinks. They’d get big bodied in the playoffs like it was nothing. That’s why Arvidsson was so bad in the playoffs last year.

I agree. I liked Hartman's energy, but he wasn't really what they had hoped for.

We know what Simmonds brings at least, and I like how he fits with Bonino and Jarnkrok on the third line. Boyle and Simmonds should be assets on PP.

It sort of makes sense for Minnesota, in that they more or less traded a decent veteran for a younger version of himself. Cheaper and age-wise fits their rebuild timeline better. As long as they don’t care about, you know, winning.
