So far indications are that it kills older people and those with existing respiratory issues at a rate FAR exceeding ordinary seasonal flu. If we treat it as business as usual then many thousands of those people will die. Young, healthy people may not be at much risk themselves, but it's still important that they try to take steps to help slow the spread of the virus to help keep it away from at-risk people.
I know it's easy for people to just write off those who are 70+ but that 3.6% rate for people 60-69 is pretty terrifying.
