An argument can be made that Rick Barnes is the best Tennessee basketball coach since Ray Mears. We 70s Vols loved Ray Mears.

Barnes is giving Knecht more offensive freedom than any player he has ever coached. That includes Kevin Durant.

I think Barnes has heard the criticisms of his offense and has given Knecht and Gainey a lot of offensive freedom. Gainey is just in over his head at this level of competition.
