The 3 good and bad of UT Men’s Basketball currently

His shot is very flat, and is especially notable in person.

He's not a bad shooter, he's just reluctant. Had several players I coached (lower level of competition obviously) that were the same. Watch his eyes/body before he shoots. The goal is the last thing he looks at/for. It's hard to be in a good rhythm shooting when shooting is the very last thing you think to do. He'd rather pass, dribble just about anything before actually try to score. He's a pass-first PG in the truest sense but being asked to play off-ball more than he's currently comfortable.

Until he believes his shot adds value to the team and his role then it will continue to look somewhat hesitant. I believe he'll adjust and be shooting just fine come SEC play.

Pons shot looks real flat to me; however it seems to be working for him.

Anyone else notice......or is it just me.
Pons shot has more arc than it used to, but yes, I have seen a few of them with a flat trajectory.

I have looked for his high school shooting percentages from 3, but have not found much.

I've wondered if it's one of those deals where they have tried to speed up his release or change his shot and it hasn't brought results yet.
