Thought this would be interesting. Texas A&M - Home of the 12th Man

TLDR
Basically a scout team player was in the stands during a game. TAMU kept losing players to injury. The coach signals for the scout player to suit up. He sits on the bench the remainder of the game as the only player on their bench. He didn't play, just stood there. Dubbed as the 12th man. Reminds me of Rudy sort of. Without the one play.

Great home field advantage.
We will have to use silent snap count on every play.

I honestly didn't know the story behind it. Now that I know, it seems kinda dumb. I thought it was like the Seahawks 12th man...just a loud, roudy crowd.

It's that also.

Seahawks actually had to reach a monetary settlement to license the use of "12th Man" from A&M. They have had it trademarked long before Seattle drew a crowd.

I'll be there in the stands, will tailgate with some Aggie fans that are good friends of mine. I've never been to Kyle Field and am looking forward to it!

The video sort of disappointed me, and I'm trying to keep an open mind and learn more about this university's traditions. Hopefully the game experience will erase that.

The Volunteer tradition is greater than the 12th Man, there's history behind the nickname .

Kinda dumb? It's a great tradition

I guess I'm just dense, but I don't get how them calling down a dude a long time ago turned into a great tradition. I'm sure there's people at every school that would suit up if the coach called them down. So that leaves a loud stadium, which isn't very unique. We have one of those too.
