A disgusting read on what UT has become under chancellor Plowman’s DEI agenda. What’s even more disturbing is that it’s happening while the state enjoys a red super majority.

In Tennessee, Republicans control almost 3/4 of the state house, and they have held at least 70 out of 99 seats since 2012. In the state Senate, they outnumber Democrats more than four to one and have for a decade. The last time a Democrat won a statewide election in Tennessee, Saddam Hussein was still alive

You gonna stop watching the games too? Because it’s likely the same football players you cheer on are probably taking these classes.
I don't care what they do. And since they are getting paid now, I will boo when they fail to perform. Never did that before with an 18 year old, but it's a brave new world.

I wouldn't worry about any of this. To be honest I would have LOVED to write a 2 page essay on my biases. It would have been hilarious!

If you think this is bothersome check out what the FAA is doing...waiving the air traffic controller pre-test you used to have to take to get accepted to the academy. Why? Need more diversity..

Sounds like they are becoming biased towards incompetence ?

When you start lowering standards in high risk jobs that just makes them more risky.

Yep...

They actually aren't hiring now because they are getting too many White applicants.. Of course its under the guise of "the budget" even though the FAA just got billions of dollars....and I take money from other peoples non ops budgets all the time to fund my group..so their excuse is BS.

Is that how it works? If you see a copperhead in your driveway you just don’t step on it and tell your kids not to step on it and that solves the problem???

You'll have to excuse me. I was educated at Tennessee. But that looks suspiciously like a non sequitur retort.

What is being described as a "crisis", is hardly exclusive to Tennessee. Sure, you can send your kids somewhere else ... where you will likely find many of the same policies being implemented. These things don't happen unilaterally at Tennessee. We are a follower; not a leader.

Widely happening at institutions that accept government money.

You'd have done that once and then figured it out.

Spring 2002.

Western Civilization professor called out the class because Alan Jackson wrote a song about 9/11 that states "I don't know the difference in Iraq or Iran".

It clicked.

Used Bob Dylans' "Mrs. Robinson" to compare and contrast western civilization to other places in the world.

Night before the paper was due and 6-8 Natural Lights, a few cites and 6 pages later I received an A.

Graduation GPA was 3.0

The professor should have flunked your a$$ ... That was Simon & Garfunkel ... not Bob Dylan.

The Athletic Department at Vandy is jealous of UT and the UT administration is jealous of Vandy. Probably been that way for 90 years.
