There were/are GI hangouts touting Tennessee in Itawon (Seoul) Korea and Landstuhl Germany that I know of off the top of my head.

I am always amazed how well UT is represented in the military. I was recently at the Sam Adams bar at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, WA and the only pendant on the wall was Tennessee. We aren’t the Volunteer state for nothing.

Japanese native Yoshitoshi Momoki graduated from Tennessee in the 1990s. In 2023, he opened a Vols themed sports bar in Tokyo, his hometown.

No, but I was in Tokyo about 10 years ago. Idk if it was there then or not but when I go back, I’ll definitely visit

I was in Tokyo many times, and in 1983, New Years Day, I went to the Nashville Bar in the Roppongi District. Great hospitality. I have no idea if there is any connection.

Grand Ole Opry and Nashville in Itaewon? Itaewon was like a sleazy slum when I was first there in 2006, but it's gotten very gentrified over the past decade. These days, walking into Grand Ole Opry must feel like getting into a hot tub time machine.

I remember a place called Rocky Top there in 91-92. Not a place I hung out at.
