Ohio State's Greg Schiano sounds off on Vols football situation
Piece of 💩 won’t let it die. I bet he’ll try to knock us down, when he wants to speak about it, when we are winning, but Pruitt won’t put up with his nonsense, along with our A.D. I’ve heard enough of Knox news in the past couple of days, they need to close shop, and burn. They just keep on bringing this crap up. Who is behind there intentions? One great Haslem?

He won’t let it die? He was asked a question today at the press conference and had a quick, simple answer. “Certainly things like that, those are tough to stomach," Schiano said. "Now isn’t the time to talk about it. There will be. There will be a time. But now is not the time.”

It seems Schiano has his own stuff to worry about with the demise of Ohio State football on the horizon. He’ll be looking for a job again as soon as someone discovers Urb’s deleted texts. Tennessee shouldn’t be on his mind.

I don't see what's so bad about what he said. If McQueary, in his testimony, either lied about the hearsay he heard or mis-remembered the hearsay he heard, I'd be mad too if I were Schiano. It absolutely cost him the Tennessee job.

I was in an awkward spot during that whole thing. I think it is pretty clear that when social media raised hell about the Schiano hire, they were actually upset about him not being a "big enough name" for Tennessee, not the Penn St stuff. If Gruden or a coach the fans had been dying for had the identical baggage, it wouldn't have been an issue. It also just looked pathetic that the Administration was so unconvinced in their decision that they let a social media outrage (and local politicians who just piggybacked off of it for political gain) reverse their decision just hours after it was made. Having said that, Schiano almost certainly would have been a terrible fit at Tennessee and I'm glad he isn't the coach.

Every side of that argument - from the fans throwing a fit to the national media that covered it, was incredibly disingenuous.

Who is this Schiano guy? Since TOSU didnt name him a interim coach, I closed the book on him being qualified to be at Tennessee......lets move on.

That was part of the disingenuousness from the national media about the whole thing. After UT pulled the offer, there were several think pieces, the most notable from Dan Wolken, lamenting the fact that a good man had lost a potential job because of hearsay allegations, and essentially saying that Tennessee fans were stupid, crazy, and overvalued their football program to the extent they just cost themselves a great head coach. Then 7 months later when there is a temporary head coaching vacancy at Schiano's current employer, all of a sudden it made all the sense in the world to not appoint him interim head coach because of his PSU baggage. It was just total bunk that was completely inconsistent and devoid of any context. They write this stuff as if the general public's memory for news stories lasts about 48 hours (which, in all honesty, it does).

It's a little game the media likes to play when stories are dead. Ask a question about it, then write a click bait article.

His best move is to go silent and hope time is on his side.

But hey, if you feel froggy ...... I doubt his closet is spotless without PSU.

Ohio State didn't even trust him as interim head coach... what a glowing endorsement.

Urban loved his guy when it came to Tennessee pulling Schiano’s offer but he didn’t even trust him with the reigns to his own school. That urban is a class act I tell you! I think schiano should just no comment the crap out of that question anytime it comes up. He’s getting settlement money as a previous poster pointed out, so he should just plead the 5th and keep it moving.

This is exactly how I feel about the whole thing. Im glad we ended up where we did, but that whole fiasco was idiotic.
