They had us scattered...but we were certainly LOUD & PROUD!

Heartbreaking loss...and if I hear anymore of that hissing...like a bunch of Kansas City fa#*€¥s...I'm gonna puke. Those Maroons were scared plenty...and those sitting around us were just waiting to lose. But, frankly...in the end, Tennessee gave the game to them on mistakes NOT due to their play.

On a flight home now...wearing my ORANGE...and can't WAIT to be walking through ATL Hartsfield in a bit...I hope I see some Bammers.

Thanks to ALL that made the trip...you MADE mine!

An Aggie asked me if I had earplugs. I said no because I won't need them. They were stunned at how loud we were in their house. We were louder than them. They would die if they were in Neyland and got the real treatment. Go Big Orange! Proud of our team and our fans.

Earplugs frankly would have been nice...not due to the volume...it was @ about a 5-6...but those GHEY "WHOOPS!", hisses and corny songs about cutting off Bevo's horns (Uh...we were the REAL UT you were playing)... might have been more tolerable with earplugs,

Oh...and I DON'T want to lock arms with you and sway like I'm a Rockette...you bunch of Maroons!

Sat in the end zone below the big screen. Kudos to Vol Fans and the Freakin' travel band was phenomenal all game long! A classic football game I'll never forget. But give credit to A&M and Kyle Field - that place WAS loud. But I think they were stunned at how loud the scattered but LOUD the vol fans and our band was!

Y'all represented VN very well, Rocky Top rang from the rafters and our players seemed to feed off that. Way to represent. :salute: :clapping: Our players don't give up and neither should we.

It's always great to hear loud-and-proud fans, and I met some really nice ones Friday from Knoxville, a 75-year old couple who'd driven in because they're retired, are maniac Vols fans, and why not?

The "hissing" is what Aggies call the "horse laugh," and it's regarded as more civil than booing. It's a tradition that Aggies don't boo. Just FYI.

I was there on the last row of upper deck. I could see Tennessee from my seat. Aggie fans were very gracious before and after the game. They were good hosts that knew they barely escaped a humiliating defeat.

Talked to an Aggie that said he had been going to aggie games for 20 years and never seen so many visiting fans. Orange was everywhere. Many other comments on how loud our minority was.

Me and the wife were in 420. We had a great time and the Aggie fans were very nice to us. It was not as loud as I thought it would be with 100,000 plus. That's not a knock on the stadium at all I think it's a great place, but Knoxville loud is when you feel it in your sternum. I'd say Georgia and Gainesville are louder. The sway is pretty awesome to see but to reiterate previous posts in multiple threads some of the "traditions" the chanting and kneeling I thought were strange.. They chant for a good 2 mins straight, my wife looked at me like what is going on and a gentleman next to us said "we going to Aggie brainwash school for a few months to learn all this stuff" thought it was funny.

The four of us were in section 346. The Aggie fans were very polite from the pre-game on. I have lived in TX since 1997, so I expected nothing else from them. I was surprised to see so many Vol fans and people in our section said they had never seen a team travel so well. We were all loud cheering and you could clearly hear Rocky Top and the It's Great to be cheer very clearly. The fans actually said several times that we were too loud. A lady in front of us covered her ears every time we yelled, which made me yell even more just for spite.

I found the stadium to not be as loud as Neyland. I was able to talk to my wife without straining to hear her unlike when Neyland is rocking. Their fans had their 12th man towels and chants, but people in our section were actually rather subdued. That lady in front of us actually yelled at her three kids at halftime to stand for the band and kept telling them how they needed to watch them how great they are. I found the band to be ok, but they are no Pride of the Southland Marching Band. The Yell Leaders are really odd. I don't get the fascination with glorified male-only cheerleaders.

The stadium entrance process for fans is horribly inefficient. At the Southeast corner, only one big gate was open and it took way too long to enter. They were not searching bags very well and did not pat down a single person that I saw, so I don't know what was taking so long. There were not enough concession areas either. I found only the one real concession stand for the upper deck with a number of smaller carts. The exit process was horrendous. It took about twice as long to exit from the upper deck than it does at Neyland. Aggies who were near me said the design of the newly remodeled stadium made leaving much worse.

Overall, it was a good experience, but I prefer Knoxville!!

I was in 328. Aggie fans were great. I couldnt stop smiling at how many times us Vol fans were drowning out the Aggie noise during the game. I wont have a voice for about 3 days but well worth it. Proud of the never quit attitude the Vol players have this year. GBO. Beat Bama

We were in 350 TWO rows from the top! SOOOO high. Reminded me of Bristol!! Aggie fans were very nice before during & after. Not one ugly comment all day. Take note LSWho & Floriduh! Aggie fan after the game said in 35 years he never saw a team anywhere close to the number of fans we brought! We had them wetting their drawers in the 4th qtr. Would love to play them in ATL in December! Very proud of our fans & most of all Team 120

Your fight song was used a detergent ad," Cleans Clear Through and Deodorizes Too" ! Vol fans only boo on bad calls and when the Vols aren't playing up to their potential.

To reiterate what some have said here, the Aggie fans were very welcoming and hospital hosts. Just walking around the stadium we had fans say welcome and happy you are here. Fans offering directions when we looked lost. Sharing history about their traditions and letting us get up front for their corps of cadets march in. After the game, had fans tell us good game and couldn't believe the fight our team had in them. Fans striking up conversations about where we were from and how they hoped to make it to Knoxville for a game some day.

This was my first real road game (been to bowl games and I suppose Neyland West doesn't count), but it was a great experience overall. Wish we could have won, but it was just unbelievable that we kept surviving at the end. Their stadium is very nice. It was impressive how they fit so many people in, but still have plenty of individual space and lots of stadium seating in some sections. I do agree that it wasn't as loud as I've heard Neyland, but still loud. May be due to seating location and not sitting down low, crowded by Aggie fans.

I am so glad y'all finally got to see aggieland. I knew you guys would have fun in College Station. People love to talk trash until they actually go visit and have fun. We're all about having a good time. Even if the visitors win, you will still have fun, and you *shouldn't* see aggies talking trash. Sometimes you have a random drunk ahole though.

We were one section over in 345, surrounded by aggies, 4 vols behind us. It might have been the aggies we were around, but they weren't friendly, but they weren't mean or rude, just not social. They were not interested in chatting, even if we asked questions.

Pregame walking around, aggies were nice and welcoming, but they were a creepy nice, like coming up from behind and tapping us on the shoulder to welcome us....just weird.. but during and after nothing was said.

I agree with you on the exit. Worst exit of any stadium I've been too. Never had to just stand stopped on a ramp to wait to leave.

Overall great time. The walk to the memorial was a liability lawsuit waiting to happen by A&M, poorly lit walk, down steps too. Memorial was well done, they need to replace some of the lights that are out, had to read some with flashlight. The aggie that was there, I give her props, she gave us great knowledge about the memorial.

I just got home (Sunday night). Sat with my son in the student section. Actually, didn't hardly sit at all. Four rows back from th UT band in the end zone. We had a ball.
Talked to many Aggie fans. All seemed to care that we were enjoying the experience, which we did. Obviously they are very proud of the traditions there. Nicest away crowd I've ever seen.

Saw a funny sign painted on an establishment. Said. "Davy Crockett would rather die in Texas than live in Tennessee". Clever. Respect their right to try and crack a joke.

Nice tribute to the origins of the volunteer state pre game. Well done by them! My son saw a Twitter saying , "if not for Tennessee, we'd be playing Mexico A&M"

Dropped off the rental car. 1,862 miles since Thursday. Great trip.

GBO!

Great experience! Can't imagine another (opposing) SEC school close to being as welcoming. Sat in the 3 row on the 15...right behind our Vols. Our lil pocket represented! Everytime we sang Rocky Top, it drew looks and smiles from our hosts. Cadet gave me a 12th Man towel, and every time the camera swooped close, I blew my nose into it...don't think it made the cast. :)

Ma·roon
məˈro͞on/
noun
plural noun: Maroons
a member of any of various communities in parts of the Caribbean who were originally descended from escaped slaves. In the 18th century Jamaican Maroons fought two wars against the British settlers, both of which ended with treaties affirming the independence of the Maroon.
-----------------------------

I would think that calling someone a Maroon would be a compliment as the name was given to a people who were able to throw off slavery, establish communities in the new continent, and defeat British settlers in two wars declaring independence. A strong and worthy name that, ...Maroon.

It's a Bugs Bunny/Three Stooges reference. Not a historical reference.
