That was the beginning of the end for Herr Fulmer last season. Not going to watch it though. Would rather go get a root canal. At least they give you some pain killer.

Oh the memories of me screaming at the TV for Chavis to blitz early and often..... maybe his worst called game.

I refused to watch it again.

If memory serves me right, however, I thought the D looked good in the first half.

Can't say how they looked in the second half, because the DBs were playing so far off of their receivers that they weren't in the camera shots.

You nailed it, that game really had it all... at least as a culmination of frustrations with our program at the time. Can't get off the field on third downs, fumbling in the red zone, out-schemed, out hustled, out motivated, etc. etc.

After 4 years of riding the fence, I became a card carrying member of the anti-fulmer legions that night. Honestly, that game was one of the biggest blows I've had as a Vol, because in 4 short hours, after a long, long offseason of thinking we were an SEC contender... I realized that we weren't just bad... we really sucked.

I agree. But for some crazy reason, I'm thinking about watching some of last season's games this coming august... so that, hopefully, I'll appreciate this fall that much more.
