Thanks Dont'e I’m sure this will help recruiting

No my comments are not. It never occurs to you guys that saturate this forum with negativity that I don't necessarily disagree with you all the time , I just get tired of seeing you say the same thing over and over in every thread every day.

And my comment yesterday was based strictly on an argument in some thread about whether Day was a better coach than Heupel at this point. For that argument to have gone on period and for as long as it did ....I just hope it was trolling on both sides.

I'm not always laughing at guys like you and Clad. But it's more fun to make fun of the guys like you because you're always so serious. You act like you're the only ones that notice all the bad. Pretty sure everyone sees most of the crap you think you're the only one that sees, but some don't say anything and the others are just like you except they want to talk about the good that they don't think you see because you never talk about it. It's laughable.

The extremes of both sides are laughable and at times seems like a troll fight.

The guys like you think I am hardly ever question my sarcasm towards them because they don't care and/or they get it and either way they just like to have fun. You guys are different.

Anyway, blah blah blah. VOLS BY FIDDY!!!

Lol, Clad actually thought that everyone that said that really thought we would win by 50 points. And you both are trying to tell me you know know me? Lol. Gtfo.
It’s the level of delusion and the Pravda-levels of spin that I object to. I know everyone sees what I see, it just sort of astounds me how some refuse to admit it and get upset that anyone will.

I don’t sit here fuming over it, so if you are really entertained by “taking it seriously,” Inhate to disappoint you, but I don’t. I really only come to places like this so I can keep up with any news and goings on. I just happen to comment what I think about it because I can.

I know, you don't care if I do or not. That's why you jumped in on my comment that you really had no clue what I was talking about.

Yes — and if you're struggling to see what I think, it's because you're not listening. I'm telling you directly: you're off topic again.

You can absolutely articulate how the things you learn in the Air Raid translate to a Pro Style or NFL system — in terms of schemes, concepts, routes, timing, and adjustments — without physically running Air Raid routes if you're prepared. He struggled with that.

I am on topic, and I don't plan to go down the rabbit hole of "he couldn't run routes during an interview." They run routes in team workouts, not interviews. We're talking about the ability to communicate using words — not about running routes against air.

It's a dull man's game to keep shifting the subject and trying to frame my future responses.

And the fact that it even crossed your mind that Dont’e — and for the record, no one named Donte was drafted or played for Tennessee — only got questions because he struggled to answer them at all is wild.
The tangent about the apostrophe in his name is weird, but ask yourself this: if Dahnt’ae were solely to blame for why he gets these questions, why were those same questions asked of every draftable receiver we have had since Heupel arrived?

I promise you, it will be okay to admit that this system is not very similar to what they do in the NFL.

I said I don’t take any of this too seriously. I suppose I care to some extent what you say because Tennessee sports are one of my greatest interests, and I find the holier than thou attitude from pumpers annoying, but I don’t take anything said here too seriously. My day and my attitude have never been affected by anything someone said on a message board.

Holier than thou attitude is just as apparent in you as it is them, and the thing you both have in common is neither see it in themselves.

But enough. This is exactly what Zep meant by his comment that I replied to. And now I've made myself a part of it. You and I both need to stfu about it and carry on.

If you wanted to say I seem condescending, but holier than thou? Nah I don’t tell people they are scum for disagreeing with me. That’s the work of the Checkerboard Goosesteppers

How about keeping your mouth shut and saying nothing. You sound like TN’s offense kept you from being some sort of superstar. You don’t get to the NFL on talent alone. A lot of good coaching comes along with it.

lol, you think these players should be fiercely loyal to their former college teams at the expense of being honest? I’m today’s climate of NIL and the transfer portal?

This reply seems holier than thou because of hurt feelers disguised by an insult. You're a mess dude. Lol.

I've been following the saga lol.

All I was saying was that this forum has been a downer lately, and it has.
It's my opinion that some take this message board "discussion" about football too seriously.

When they spend day after day during the off season arguing every little thing in every thread often repeating and regurgitating the same thing over and over and justify it as "I enjoy it", I call it the way I see it. And that makes me an automatic whatever the kids are calling it these days.

Your comments are coming from the same place. Any sort of discussion or critique is “stupid” to you because of the same reasons that those people I mentioned find it stupid.

Heupel has done a good job. He is a good coach. However, if the goal is being elite, there is plenty left to prove on his end and plenty available to question for fans.
.

Would you all say kirby and uga run nfl routes? If so how many of their wide receivers have gone to the pros and had stellar careers? Looking back at recruiting rankings, they have had higher ranked wr’s, and other than Pickens, i cant name one. Plus he hasn’t exactly torn up the league.

Basically I think CJH has increased our players draft stock because of their production. Heck would anyone have expected Hyatt or Tilman to get drafted at all if Pruitt coached them all 4 years?
Yes, UGA’s offense is more pro-style than Tennessee’s. That has certainly helped McConkey get drafted and play well, as he lacks some elite measurables. He reads man/zone well and runs sharp routes all over the field.

But let’s be real: guys like Pickens or AD Mitchell are always going to be higher picks. Pickens didn’t give two flips about nuanced routes or blocking. Big fast guys who can jump and catch get drafted first. Routes can be taught and refined; size can’t. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint was a great route runner for UGA. He made crucial catches over the middle for years and blocked like he’s got that dawg in him. Result? He was an UDFA practice squad player for less than a year and is out of the league.

Somebody coming out of Tennessee may have work to do on more sophisticated routes. It’s true. Does it matter? If all other things were equal, sure. But all other things aren’t even a little bit equal.

Didn't the Houston Oilers run a version of this offense in the early '90s with Warren Moon at QB and Kevin Gilbride as OC? They were 11-5 in '91, 10-6 in '92 and 12-4 in '93, losing in the playoffs by 2, 3 and 8 pts. So, with the right QB, this offense does work in the NFL.
Washington ran some last year.

What I don’t hear is how much the QBs and WR are working together in the off season. I hear the Nico was working out with Matthew’s in Cali….i bet they spent hours on route timing….
All this to say, CJH can’t be all the blame

It’s a symptom of the world right now.

Everyone is under mental stress and it spills over in to forums. Money is ruining the world, not just college football.
No need to derail the thread with a discussion that leads to you reporting me again, but you know that's not true.

Golesh and Burns were sorely missed last couple of years. Tillman and Hyatt became completely different receivers under those guys. People talk about recruiting, and that’s part of it at times, but they weren’t what they became under those two and before they got them as coaches. Neither was our offense or has it been.

As far as Thornton goes, he probably could have left that out… blaming the team is a sign of immaturity. Since he did make it on a team, one has to consider he has his own image and path to protect as he is in the NFL. I won’t hold that against him. If he starts trashing and blaming the Raiders too, then he needs a PR fixing and owes an apology lol.

In all seriousness, I doubt that will happen and believe he will do well. At least he was honest about the things he feels he needs to fix to be a better player. I’ve read that NFL teams want players that communicate their strengths and weaknesses during their interviews. People trash Pete, but the guy knows a thing or two.

Tennessee shouldn’t worry as long as they do the same thing and take their own inventory. Perhaps bring Burns and Golesh back 😂
Hyatt couldn’t catch a cold under Burns. He blew up in 2022 under Pope.
