I don't post threads on here regularly. Just wanted to say I have never been more proud to be a Tennessee vol fan. I know on here we give each other a hard time and complain about coaches and Currie.

With regards to Schiano I don't know if he would have been a good coach. He could have come and won 20 games in his first 2 years, but at what cost???!

We don't know for sure what happened on that day only God and Greg know what happened. I am not judeging him. I just know that when all of Tennessee unites together to prevent what would be a toxic hire and he would never have stood a chance. As a Christian and a vol fan I do not want anyone like that around kids for any reason. Like I said true or not we have to show moral character ( why kiffin will never be back regardless of how great he could or will be).

So proud of what our politicians, twitter people, students VFLs, trustees etc did for our great university. If the next coach that is hired people will hate him, unless he is Gruden..... lol but in the need if we disagree with his coaching style we will at least have a united fan base hoping for the best for our team.

Go vols ..... always!!!

Where was this moral compass when Butch called Bowles a traitor for helping a girl that claimed she was raped?

We don’t know the facts then like no one here does about Schiano.

We don’t know if he covered it up? Well, we don’t know that he didn’t either... maybe much of the reaction of us fans was due to the unknown... maybe because we expected more and were cauht off guard by the hire. Maybe because there is no trust in Currie and/or the Haslams. Maybe because we believe there are simply better hires out there that could be a better fit for UT than a .500 college coach from Rutgers. Maybe because he doesn’t check the boxes of the prerequisites that our AD stated. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s ALL OF THOSE THINGS?! It could have been just one, maybe just one each for you, me, him, her, the admin assistant that was gonna walk, Condredge Holloway, TN legislators, and everyone else that smelled smoke... we did what we felt was right, that’s all you can do. I’m proud that people spoke up. If the allegations are 100% false then Currie should stand up in front of the cameras and say it rather than hiding away. Go ahead Currie, stick your neck out a little farther and grab up Schiano and stand up and answer some questions. If he’s your guy then let’s hear why. I don’t blame Schiano for backing out, pretty crappy way to begin a dream job. Now that he’s backing out we may just get another mediocre coach who tries real hard. This may have been the best Currie could get (best Currie could get... bet others at UT could have done better) but I sure would like to know how many people said “No I don’t want the job” besides Gruden, Kelly, and Mullen... and how much did we offer them? How much did we offer Schiano? Screw you to the folks who say the fans are running the program...1st time these the UT fans have had a say in anything in a long darn time. We expect more and deserve more. Don’t piss on our back and tell us it’s raining!
