Thank you making this fun again. We may win this weekend- we may not. However, for the last number of years I was looking forward to the bye week or the end of the season by now. I was going to watch every game because that is what I have done for 35 years, but there were seasons where I looked forward to the week we didn’t play so I wouldn’t have to see how pathetic we were and listen to more analysis about how we were never going to be back. Maybe I was the only one this way- doubt if I was. I look forward to game day again. Thank you.

Well said. Just being competitive…looking like we belonged was what I asked for. That’s how beaten down I was. He’s done so much more…and done it without emulating any other coach. This has become Tennessee Football, and will hopefully be that way for many years to come.

I have been saying this all week. Its great to be favored against SEC teams on the road. We are playing a huge game every weekend and are in the conversation all week prior to kick off. This is all you can ask at this point. Big game, national audience, all top recruits watching, underdog role, at home and its unclear who will win. UT is back win or lose.

The fact that he is done it without a roster full of 5 stars, and is still filling out his roster with his players is amazing. I can't wait to see what this team can become once we have an elite defense to go along with this offense.
We have a good roster (19th on the team talent composite), not a great one, but more than enough to be a hell of a lot more competitive than Heupel's predecessor was. We've beaten two teams this year ranked higher on the talent composite, LSU (8th) and Florida (12th). Been awhile since we did that. Alabama and Georgia are a level we haven't seen yet though. That doesn't mean we can't beat them, in fact, if Young doesn't play, we should be favored against Bama at home.

Agree totally. Along with that are certain players who proved to be true Tennessee Volunteers. I am referencing certain guys who could easily have left the sinking ship for greener pastures. Coach will for sure upgrade his roster with high profile recruits and coach them up. His immediate success coupled with he and his staff, transfers along with players from the last two season who refused to Henry T it out of town making it happen. I for one am grateful to the guys laying the foundation for good times to come. Some might call it changing the culture, I call it being true Volenteer.

Agreed. Win or lose, this is the most fun I've been as a vols fan. After so many down years (prior to last year) and poor coaches, I'm just grateful for what we have now.

For a lot of you young guys, this is what it felt like back in 85.
It was really the first time a lot of us born in the mid 60’s and early 70’s experienced Tennessee competing week in and week out in the National spotlight. We had great moments before that, upsets and what not. But it was a new feeling being mentioned with the big boys.

I am 63 years old and have been a VFL before there was a person called a VFL. My Mom says I was a big Vol fan for as long as she can remember. I am going on record now and saying regardless of what happens the rest of the year, Coach Heupel is the BEST coach we have had on Rocky Top in my lifetime. He has completely changed the attitude, mindset, and performance of the team and the fan base in less than 2 years. He has WAY OUT PERFORMED my expectations for him and his staff. I figured it would take him 5 years to get us back on track. Two things really impress me about our coach. 1) you can tell the players genuinely love playing for him. 2) He learns from his mistakes. Not only has the team improved every game, but he has also improved as an HC. Danny White hit a home run with CJH. JMHO

It's like I said earlier...what kid in America wouldn't want to play for this kind of offense.

I'm a few years older and totally agree with you. Considering we lost 35+ players to the portal, this is a miraculous turnaround. CH used that same portal, and his team's ability to recruit, to cover those losses and then some.

With NIL and the portal, it is obviously a new playing field. Thankfully, we have a coach that can survive and thrive in the new world.

My latest dream is that a certain AL linebacker ends up having some deep regrets about his decision.

GO VOLS!
