For not settling for mediocracy and hiring someone because the natives were getting restless. Thanks for having the best interests of the University, fans, alums, and players alike. Sometimes you have to tear down in order to rebuild. Here's to hoping Pruitt is a Master Builder without the brick by brick mentality. Now, let's get on one accord, support the new staff, and sit back and watch our players get developed for once.

Coach - I don’t care about how you did it, but thank you for stepping up and saying enough is enough. You went out and got the best possible coach willing to be here and turn this ugly corner.

Go Vols

Also thank you for bringing Haslam and Sexton back into the fold. Now we can return to the status quo. I was afraid you may accidentally make a great hire. You didn't disappoint.

I'll hold judgement until we have something to say whether or not a thank you is in order or a F you. Time will tell.

They never left.. Currie was the fall guy Phil was the calming face. The underlying problems are still there.

All the crybabies are up early I see.

Oh well.

Once this guy starts winning they will all swear they loved the hire. Haha. Never fails.

“I CAINT BELIEVE HES GONE COACH THA GUMPS IN THA PLAYOFFS. CAINT BELIEVE IT!”

Couple years ago they were saying: “I CAINT BELIEVE KIFFIN BAILED OUT BEFORE SIGNING DAY! WHERE IS THE LOYALTY!?”

all will be well.

Wheres the blue font? Are you guys serious? You do know he could've hired somone we could at the very least all get behind as OUR guy after allll these years of settling for less but he hired a born and raised life-long bama guy lol. Kiffin is more qualified and more endeared to the majority of this fanbase than Pruitt and ofc he didn't want to try for Gruden and Leach was a done deal but "wasn't a good fit" but Bammer guy is.. lol what a joke. Tee Martin waves with his '98 ring. Hell I would've been more excited about Jason Witten and he was ready too, but instead..bama guy..thanks Phil... sing it with me.. "We don't give a damn about the whole state of Alabama...except.for.our.head coach"

Now if P & P can talk Witten into coming on staff when he retires at the end of this season.......

Given the situation, I'm sure most of you ass clowns could do much better.

Time to get on board...or not. Your choice.

I am surprised some of these people can even figure out how to get on VN. I have put more people on ignore in the last 2 weeks than the whole 4-5 years I been on here.

Some just need to get over themselves. Pruitt is a proven coach. He will be great here. If they had resurrected Vince Lombardi some would still bi!ch.

Cut's a Bama alum too but I don't see a lot of people making a big stink about how it affected the job he did here. Let's decide what the new coach is like based on the product on the field.

As far as the Haslams, I know this'll be unpopular because bashing Haslams is like the best thing in the world during a bleak offseason, but... it's a big university full of lots of things that aren't football. Decision-making about coaching needs to be the province of the athletic department, and we need an AD with the stones to say "thanks for the donations, but we've got it as far as deciding what's best for the university". But beyond that, the Haslams have dumped at least something like tens of millions into the university, between the business school and the music school and the scholars program and etc. You can say whatever you want about how they've got no knack at all for the athletic front office, but no one in their right mind tells someone who's that massive of a benefactor that we'd just as soon they took their ball and went home.

lol, had Currie ended up with Pruitt people would be pissed at him for settling. Did Fulmer even talk to a HC? Did he try bringing in a UT guy?

complete double standard here. Currie had to go, but don't act like Fulmer did anything special here.

**ALSO**

A BIG Thank You to coach Barnes and Warlick.

Having their houses in order has enabled UT to focus on football and getting this done. I hate that the football drama has taken the spotlight off of them, however, because they are doing great.

GBO

I'm pretty underwhelmed by the hire. On the other hand, I actually have faith that a legitimate search was conducted over the last week, by someone who actually knows what to look for in a coach for this university. I believe Coach Fulmer got us the best coach for the job (that would take the job).

I support Coach Pruitt and the team. Yet, this doesn't quite make me want to scream "We're back!"

Thank you Fulmer for helping UT recover a smidgen of its dignity after this dumster fire of the admin. You went about it in a professional manner, interviewed many and settled on what looks to be a solid choice. Not the super splash hire we were originally dreaming about but something we may well be very happy about - and fantastic under the circumstances.

I’ll just wait and issue my good job next November. I don’t expect much but 6-6 in year one. Anyone accepting less is just plain dead.
