Danica Patrick is coming to NASCAR full time with JR Motorsports, also will run between 8-10 Sprint Cup races for Stewart-Haas Racing.

where did i say anything about it being a bad business move?

they're not going see any on track success. at one point at least Junior was a decent driver. now, he's a has been and she's a never gonna be. it's only fitting the align with each other.

I don't think it can be done on a race by race basis. he could go out on a limb adn start the season with no owners points to gurantee taht she makes the first couple of races she attempts though.

I think that he was implying that when you said that it is gonna end well that Tony and Dale jr agree because they will profit no matter how she runs.

It's an almost certain they will if she plans on attempting Daytona.

Tony said today he wants the third team to run full time to stay locked in next year. Sounds like we know where Mark lands now. I also guess Tony will swap the #14 owner points to the new team and will use his PCP.

My only question is who will sponsor Mark in the races Danica doesn't race. Go Daddy said they won't pay the bills for the full Cup season.

Robby Gordon says he won't give Danica Patrick the #7 when she enters the Sprint Cup series part-time next season. "C'mon!'' Gordon said on Friday at Bristol Motor Speedway. "Why would I?'' Patrick said on Thursday, when officially announcing plans to leave the IndyCar Series to drive a fulltime Nationwide Series schedule for JR Motorsports and part-time Cup schedule for Stewart Haas Racing in 2012, that she'd like to keep the #7 that she's had throughout her motorsports career. Gordon, who has had the number for six years in Cup, isn't willing to bargain. "'I've built my business around the # 7,'' Gordon said. "It's all fun and games, but I think she should be proud to drive the #77.'' The 77 could be available. Gordon's kind of a jerk anyway, but not just for this. He has plenty of examples on and off the racetrack of this.

He was nice enough though to sign a full-size helmet I took to Bristol in the spring, just before he stole my Sharpie. :blink:

Be it a bottom tier team or not, all his marketing efforts, souvenirs, printed materials use the number 7. It would be a major expense for Robby to change numbers. If he were smart, something he isn't accused of, he would sell the number for more than it would cost him.

If I was Robby I'd hold out for some money and support from Chevy if Danica is set on having the #7. Personally I think SHR should get the #4 once Kasey is done with it.
