Im glad to see Im not the only one who thinks we'll struggle this year.

It dont mean Im not a fan or Im a negavol but that roster dont look great unless some people step up tremendously.

Am I talking about winning 10 games type of struggling?

No but I could easily see us missing the NCAAT.

Now if Josiah James is a real 5 star and ORN is SEC all freshman level and Plavsic is eligible and can give about the same as Alexander did then we might be talking about a top 25 team.

We might miss the tourney, , but with the continued talent coming in, things are looking good for the future

IMO, we get 18/19 wins, and that should be good enough to get in based on the tough schedule

Yeah the league is a lot better than the first few years Barnes was here, but even though our talent is down from last year, our overall culture and mindset as a program is better. I think we do just fine. 20ish wins being my thought. Continuity and culture goes a LONG way in college sports.

Do you guys think Turner or Bowden have a shot in the NBA?

I personally believe they do. Bowden reminds me of Iman Shumpert a lot, and Turner reminds me of Tyus Jones, but with a better shot. Neither are going to be first rounders by any stretch, but maybe late second rounders.

I've seen Bowden in a few mocks to this point. Projected mid to late second round.

Turner really needs to become much more of a distributor and penetrator to have a shot in the NBA. He has similar size as Lofton, and CL's shooting couldn't get him into the NBA. Bowden's size, athleticism, shooting, and defense gets him drafted. It helps that he had work as a PG last year.

I think Turner took a good step as a distributor in the tournament last year. I think he's also the best defensive player on the team as well now, with Bowden and Pons following him. Obviously he's a great 3 point shooter which certainly helps him as well. He's not an explosive athlete by any means, but he's got plenty of quickness. Obviously he's on the smaller side at 6-2 with not a huge wingspan either. He'll have a good shot at least.

You mentioned Pons as one of the top defensive players on the team and based on some of CRB’s statements last season it appears he agrees. I guess it shows how little I know as outside of the occasional splash play, he appeared to be lost way to much to me? This team really needs Pons to perform up to his abilities this season

It seems like Pons has always been a good on-ball defender due to his size, length, and athleticism. He isn’t someone you’d want to have to go against 1v1 towards the basket, especially if you were a smaller player. Where he struggles is in help defense when he has to leave his man to assist. He is either late to help out, or he loses his man when retreating back.

Could not have said it better myself

We're actually on a lower level than KY at this point. They at least can field a competitive football team. Very thankful for basketball right now and positive things ahead.

Not the UK football team I saw on the field against SC this past Saturday. But they at least have the excuse of losing their starting QB after week 2.
