Texas Tech jumped PSU in BCS

There should be a rule with the BCS stating that if you schedule Coastal Carolina you can climb no higher than #3.

lol... Yep, they are paying the price for the non-conference scheduling. Still, I thought that Joepa would get some respect. I don't agree with keeping the Big 12 so bunched up near the top after a loss.

I can see that, but Texas barely, barely lost to a much better team than the ones that beat USC or Florida.

I have a lot of respect for the offensive firepower these Big 12 teams are showing every weekend. But I am suspicious that defensively they just aren't nearly as good as the SEC. We have seen that year in and year out in the bowl games. SEC defensive speed tends to come as quite a shock to non-SEC foes. Not always, but usually.

I would be curious to see a Florida match-up with Texas or Texas Tech or Oklahoma.

By the looks of it if Texas takes care of their business the rest of the way out they will be right back in the title hunt.

I agree. Just as Oklahoma did a couple years back.

It will be interesting to see what happens if both Florida and Texas end up with one loss and there is PSU as fodder for one of them.

Florida's loss by one point to a decent, but not really very good Ole Miss team held up against Texas' loss to a good TT team will hurt the Gators. Then again, Florida to be in that spot will have just beaten a (likely) ranked FSU team on the road and the #1 and previously unbeaten Alabama team in the conference championship.

Florida would probably get the nod at that point.

I'm very surprised that USC can't seem to get any love.

They've been shutting people out. Regardless who you play, shutouts in D1 ball are impressive.

I heard on the radio the other day that except for the first half against Oregon State they have given up like 4 touchdowns all year. Their defense is nasty.

Hey, it is the PAC10 they are playing in. Like it or not, the perception out there at the moment is that the PAC 10 and the Big Ten are just not at the same level as the Big 12 and the SEC. And BTW, Florida held a decent Georgia offense to 10 points. Held Moreno, who had just gotten 180 yards at LSU, to 65 yards. Granted, they had to throw a lot to get back in the game. Still, other than USC, who in the PAC10 would give Florida a game? Not saying that USC isn't good. But the teams they play would be midddle of the pack, at best, in the SEC, and probably more on the Vandy level, really.

the only decent pac-10 team they've played recently the beat by 7 points. blowing out UW and WSU isn't going to impress anyone. and the SEC is pretty lousy this year too. Florida and Bama are the only decent teams. Auburn, Tenn, and LSU are horrible. Georgia got destroyed by every decent team they've played.

have you not noticed the utter lack of offense in the SEC this season? The SEC is atrocious. UF is probably the best team, but has some defensive issues (pointing out Staffords 3 picks isn't helping, we all know he sucks), AL is probably best built for big games because of the D, but has some serious offensive issues. Aside from those two, which team is worth anything?

Auburn - serious joke
LSU - No QB and defense is weak at best
TN - biggest joke ever
USC - offense would battle UT and Auburn as worst ever
Ole Miss - entire rep built upon fluke at UF
Vandy, KY, Arky, MSU all clearly suck.

The PAC 10 is awful, to be sure, but USC has the best defense in the land and their offense is probably top 10. I like that combo better than any of the Big 12 or SEC schools vying for the crown.

I don't think SCs offense is anywhere near a top-10 offense. i bet cal holds them well under 4 tds. of course cal may not score. Sanchez is very good (underrated even). The WRs, Oline, and RBs aren't that great.

fair enough. I still like their combo of solid O with great D.

I think there is no question that SC would be favored against any SEC team IMO. I think they would have some problems with a texas tech style offense though. I can't see much logic that their loss to OSU at home is worse than Florida's loss for instance.

I don't like the logic either. SC is playing the best football right now and nobody is paying any attention.

Tech might hurt them on O, but Tech's D would get obliterated as well. TX made their D look very good the other night, but the truth is that TX's line isn't very good and McCoy was very inaccurate most of the night.
